Not great value for your money.

Ot was ok here. Room was clean, staff were friendly but its a bit run down. No where to sit in the room except on the bed. The pool was nice and there's a bbq area but the bbq wasn't clean. Laundry facilities available but the ehole place needed a tidy up.

Good value, neat, clean room and stocked bathroom. With no bedside lamp as advertised, Charlie was able to bring us a lamp for light. A great position to walk into town for supplies or drive straight out on the right to Nitmiluk Gorge. A big fridge. The cooking hot plate space is not practical in size and when we were there, a dark corner as light on exhaust fan didn’t work. Happy with our stay.

The motel has recently been renovated. The room was neat but the room door kept jamming. The towels and face washer had dirty stains on them. The sheets were a 'dirty white' colour and we were unsure as to whether they had been changed. The fridge in the room was very noisy. The water in the swimming pool was murky and appeared to not have a filter and had no chlorine smell at all. We hopped out very quickly. The owner was friendly and you can tell that they are wanting to do a good job. However, it is definitely very average and when you're having to sleep in a motel with spikes on the fences and an electric gate that is closed at night to keep the locals out, it's a little unsettling. If you're looking for a cheap and poor to average motel this is fine, but do not expect any more.

Nothing makes the price acceptable

Whilst this property is renovated backpackers - the price of $249 a nite is absolutely not warranted. Staff, as mentioned in most other feedback, are very accommodating, however there are a few things that dont work well for solo female travellers. Curtains were quite small and i was unable to completely close them and as windows are low enough anyone walking past can look in, so all rather disconcerting. As also mentioned previously, property has safety gate that is locked @ 7:00 pm .. however if you are returning after that time you actually have to get out of your car to enter gate code .. again as a solo female - very uncomfortable especially with current level of crime in Katherine. On the plus side .. there is a full size fridge if that's helpful for you .. Overall hopelessly overpriced - perhaps would stay again if price was half
