The exterior looked dated and the neighborhood is a little shabby but we loved our room. Very large, lots of light, great bathroom. The lobby and breakfast areas were old world charming and the breakfast was affordable and plentiful.

This hotel is located in a sketchy area, with an "adult entertainment club" across the street. I was very closely approached by one man for money and another man followed me into the hotel after obnoxiously whistling behind me. My towel was placed back on the rack after I had used it. This was really gross. Perhaps the most unprofessional thing was when the staff did NOT honour my request for a wake-up call TWICE. One day they phoned over 40 minutes later and on the day of my departure I could have missed my train since they NEVER CALLED. The woman with the blond hair never apologised about these errors and needs to work on her customer service skills. The young man with Syrian heritage was kind and professional. He is the only reason why I am not giving this hotel the lowest rating.

Der Aufzug ist seit mindestens 3 Monaten defekt, worauf weder auf der Hotelseite noch vor dem Bezahlen hingewiesen wurde. Wie Gehbehinderte in ihr Zimmer kommen sollen, ist mir schleierhaft. Unser (Superior-)Zimmer lag im 4. Stock, direkt unterm Dach. Es war leider nicht möglich, in ein Zimmer im 1. Stock zu tauschen. Eine kostenlose Stornierung aufgrund des defekten Aufzuges wurde abgelehnt. Außerdem war es bei unserer Ankunft im Zimmer brüllend heiß. Eine Klimaanlage ist nicht vorhanden, das Umfeld (Bahnhofsnähe) so laut, dass man nicht bei offenem Fenster schlafen kann. Das Hotel selber ist in die Jahre gekommen.

Das Hotel befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Kasseler Hauptbahnhof, womit man problemlos in alle Richtungen kommt. Leider ist die Ecke nicht unbedingt schön. (Steht auf dem gegenüberliegenden Balkon tatsächlich eine Waschmaschine?!) Das Personal war sehr freundlich, auf eine ehrliche, etwas ungeschliffene Art. Das Frühstück war gut und mit Liebe zubereitet. Einziger Verbesserungsvorschlag: Eine vegane Alternative zu Marmelade. Die Atmosphäre des Frühstückssaals hat mir gut gefallen. Die Zimmereinrichtung ist stark in die Jahre gekommen. Das ist nicht stilvoll-antik, sondern veraltet. Keine Frage, das war früher sicher mal beeindruckend: große Zimmer mit wahnsinniger Deckenhöhe, zwei Waschbecken. Aber eine Modernisierung wäre schön. Was gewischt und geputzt werden kann, war absolut sauber - den Teppich im Zimmer und auf dem Korridor kann man jedoch vermutlich nur noch austauschen. Fazit: Viel Potenzial, aber nicht wirklich genutzt. Für Gäste, die nur zum Schlafen und Frühstücken dort hinkommen, sehr gut geeignet.

Wunderbares Hotel mit viel Charme, sehr freundlichem Personal und einem großzügigen Einzelzimmer. Ich habe sehr gut geschlafen! Dass Mobiliar und Bad in die Jahre gekommen sind, finde ich eher schön. In der coolen Lobby mit Billard-Bibliothek kann man abends gut sitzen und noch einen Drink genießen. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut und vielfältig zu jeder Uhrzeit – besser als in manch einem Mehr-Sterne-Hotel! Ich war beruflich in Kassel und habe mich sehr wohlgefühlt während der drei Tage.
