Super 8 accepts vouchers from the Juneau City for homeless overflow of the city’s shelters. This idea is fine, but they also accept their dogs. The rooms are not segregated from the paying customers. For my three nights I had to listen to what sounded like a German shepherd bark all night. I was visiting Juneau for a medical procedure and needed my sleep both before and after. It also wasnt exactly cheap.

The room was really dirty. Carpet was stained, dropped something on the ground and under the bed and behind the dresser was full of trash and dust, hair in the bed and shower that wasn't ours. States breakfast when looking for a hotel w breakfast but it's a "grab and go" oatmeal, almost expired yogurt, and granola bars- still would have guessed something hot but no, coffee was never good and always tasted old and burnt. The highlight was the nice young man driving the shuttle best customer service.

The pick up point was the Alaska Marine ferry in Auke Bay - about 12 miles from City Center. Van was large and very clean. Shuttle serves both ferry and airport.

I didnt like that i couldnt get ahold of motel when i got off ferry for a ride to motel, the phone was busy & i had to pay for a taxi, when the motel offers A free shuttle bus!

CONS: Dirty/disgusting room. Our room had a funky smell, had an empty beer can sitting on the microwave and false eyelashes on the bathroom floor. So gross There was also something white on the comforter, no idea what it was & I will not speculate. The room gave off "by the hour" vibes. We were stuck in Juneau due to a flight cancelation, so I just put the comforter on the floor and made the best of it. .... Oh.... and the shuttle driver was scary as hell. Drove like a mad man & blew right through a stop light like it wasn't even there and tried to play it off, but my husband & I both noticed. My husband made a joke like ..."f that stop light, huh???", but it wasn't funny. This guy could've caused a bad wreck. If the property reads this, the driver had dark hair, was young & handsome and had an accent. Please get him some driving lessons! PROS: The lobby and whatnot appeared to be fairly tidy upon first glance. The guy at the front desk was super nice & helpful. Unfortunately I have to give 2 stars over all because the room was nasty & there is no excuse for that.

Adequate stay close to the airport. Free airport shuttle although walking distance to airport if needed. Near a homeless encampment and panhandlers near the entrance to hotel. The hotel has been redone recently and was clean.
