Outdoorsman Paradise

The Rest Area Lodge was built new in 2022 to serve outdoor enthusiasts visiting Southern Illinois for a variety of outdoor activities. The Lodge is located centrally to a lot of fun things to do and features ample room for your traveling party. Guests may enjoy relaxing inside or outside the Lodge as there are a variety of leisure areas to unwind at the end of the day. The Lodge features three bedrooms, six beds and two bathrooms. Each room has a TV with internet access, modern bedding and plenty of storage room. Guests can make use of the mud room to store boots, clothing and gear for easy access and fast entry after a long day. The kitchen features a full set of modern appliances (including dishwasher), a large table with dishes and cookware, and pantry space for dry food storage. Guests can prepare a full meal at any time - or make use of the local delivery services.
There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and a Smart television is provided for your entertainment. The bathroom has a shower and a hair dryer. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.

Great place to stay

Everything was super clean and nice. Beds were super comfortable. The back porch views were great. Jason and his business partner were great host and went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay. Hopefully we will be back next year!

Perfect getaway

So we are some SIUC Alumni that have rented this particular home twice for a girls weekend getaway. It so so cozy, clean, and peaceful. We are hoping to keep this an annual trip and we’ve all agreed this is the perfect home to stay in.

Mom Squad Girl Trip

We decided last minute to hit the Wine Trails in Southern Illinois. This new cabin like VRBO was a super find. We loved the layout, the plush towels and robes and the huge screen tv. The screened in back porch was perfect for coffee every morning. It is outside the city - but centrally located to most of the wineries we wanted to visit. Shuttle services are an option for visiting the wineries as well - just do your research. Communication was superb before, during and after our stay. Jason is a great host and has an excellent VRBO setting. We will return.

The rental was absolutely perfect for our girls weekend stay! Set in the middle of farmland, but not too far from town. We hit up coffee shops, wineries and did some hiking. Morning walks were so lovely! Everything was extremely clean and new; every detail was in place. We appreciated the extra touches; the house felt warm, not sterile. Jason was a great communicator and responded quickly. As we made our way through town, so many people commented that they've been watching the house go up & complimented the finished product:) We absolutely plan to return; this may be an annual retreat location for us! Thanks Jason for your home and hospitality.

What a Get-A-Way

We truly enjoyed our stay and all of the amenities. The Cabin was clean enough to let my 7 month old grandson crawl around on the floors. This is a perfect home for a get-a-way or for hunters. I cannot say enough good about this home. You sink into the beds after a long day. There are large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and soap in the bathrooms with plenty of towels and washcloths. A very large screen TV to relax in front of and a screened in back porch with a screen underneath to keep the flies and.insects out. My partner is a hunter and spent most of his time outside and talking about the amenities for hunters. The kitchen is fully stocked with all of the cooking utensils you will need for your trip. We all had a great time and were fully able to enjoy ourselves just like we were home.
