Great location, but needs some things organised

The room was clean and the location is great, just around the corner from bars. because of Covid, he had no reception anymore, neither breakfast was served but we could just help ourself. which i didn't minded neither. but then all necessary things in the kitchen has to be provided and as well everything should be cleaned every morning, and not only in the afternoon, same as dishwasher, is turned on in the evening, but never emptied. as i did it. but i still would stay again, just because of the great location

Quirky guesthouse that I loved from the 1st minute

Quirky guesthouse that I loved from the 1st minute I arrived. Rooms were beautiful with big bed and cool old fashioned bath in large en-suite. Breakfast was good too, with cereal, eggs, rashers and mushrooms. Melville is a trendy town and good bars are within,100 m of the guesthouse.

There was a mouldy smell in my room which made it difficult to breathe. Linen and towels were clean but towels were hard and had a tear. The communal kitchen also had a bar smell, a mix of old oil and a gas leak. staff were friendly. I didn't stay for breakfast.

Very quaint and comfortable

Very quaint and comfortable. Great was great and helpful. Really nice neighbourhood. Will definitely try to stay there again if we go back to Jo'berg.

Dirty place

The place was very dirty. The shower was very inconvenient because it was in the bath and water was all over the room when taking a shower. The dog nearly bite me and the cats follow guests. Breakfast was acceptable. There was loud noise on daily basis from the neighbouring place.

It was very disappointing experience. When we walked in to hotel we couldn't find anybody in the reception for 2 hours almost. And the guy appeared with robe on him.. the room was terribly dirty. We saw the dogs on the aisle of rooms..

Absolutely fabulous place, 10 meters from Mellville 7th Street but secluded and quit. The owners are lovely, the service is great and the house is a piece of art, all fits just perfect!

Cheguei às 23 h e não tinha recepção. Dois hóspedes nos ajudaram a gritar para alguém abrir a porta. Um cara nos abordou querendo dinheiro, tivemos que nos reunir para retirá-los, foi uma cena de terror. Entramos no hotel e ar condicionado não funcionava e o ventilador(coitado). Pela manhã fomos atras de Wi-Fi e só pegava próximo a um dos quartos, tivemos que ficar em pé, próximos. Pagamos duas diárias mas saímos naquela manhã. Foi muito chato não ter alguém para acessar. Uma funcionária até tentou, mas sem êxito.

Sérénité et bon accueil

2 jours qui nous ont permis de visiter en taxi Soweto et Jo ´Burg. Hotel situé dans un quartier très agreable et sûr Melville dont le propriétaire Greg est très aimable et serviable. On est bien accueilli par tout le personnel. Une petite piscine permet de se baigner rapidement en été. Il s'agit certainement d'un très bel hôtel dans le passé mais tombé en oubli depuis le déclin de Jo 'Burg. C'est dommage mais la région souffre du déclin du tourisme et de la mauvaise réputation des alentours (insécurité particulièrement criante).

Highly Recommendable for Pet Lovers

Excelent! Was a pleasant time and is very close of nice and economic restaurants and clubs to listen to good music or dance a bit and grab a bite. Also have cats and a dog that are lovely and make miss less my cat back home.

small nice guest house

Cosy quiet guesthouse with nice bedroom and freestanding bathtub. Dogs and cats around. Breakfast good. Neigbourhood with lots of bars and restaurants.
