We were not able to stay. Our dog was hit by a car the week before we were to travel. After surgery our pup survived, but were unable to travel and not able to get a refund. I called property, explained our situation and got a positive response from the desk and on duty manager, but they said Expedia had to get involved since booking was through them. When I contacted Expedia, they said they had to contact the property. Once Expedia got involved, Expedia’s automated system said the property rejected our refund. Not sure who screwed it up, but this goes to prove that reserving direct may be more effective if emergencies occur, since no one is there to advocate for you.
