Loved this Alpenhof hotel and Jackson Hole

Although the hotel is dated, we felt that’s what gives it character. It’s like staying in old Europe/Austria. We loved our stay. Service by Lydia and Alexia was wonderful. And being immediately adjacent to the Jackson Hole tram and ski lifts was excellent. Lots of great restaurants in Teton Village, including the Tram Grill itself. Mandzy and Norma-Jean were excellent servers there. We’ll be back to do Jackson Hole again at the Alpenhof.

This hotel looks way better from the outside. The inside furnishings and bedding and bathrooms are clean but somewhat out of date. The carpets are disgusting throughout the hotel and it was challenging to let our grandkids go around with bare feet. The rooms do not have microwaves, so our plan for dinner was shot. We had to microwave our meals down in one little microwave just off the lobby. They said the pool was open but then there was a sign that said it was not. The hot tub was fine though.

We booked this stay early Oct to see the fall colors. We choose Alpenhof so we could have German beer and food. When we checked in we were told the kitchen was closed for the season. No food or drink was available on site. They apparently are closed Oct and Nov and reopen in Dec for ski season. But they close the bar and kitchen weeks before they stop selling room accommodations. Very disappointed. Would not have booked this hotel had I known that.

It was a beautiful hotel. They needed to do a little maintenence (paint, update carpet, and replace light bulbs) but overall was a wonderful place to stay. The staff was very helpful in guiding us to find wildlife.

Properly is old and it is shows its age. Staff was excellent and it was clean. Multiple room issues. TV was old and often remote did not work and it kept losing its signal. Small bathroom. Very dated decor and my room was very noisy, there was a garage under it that started to be opened and closed at 6:30 am.

A great location for sight seeing and for going into Jackson without being so busy as Jackson. It is a little dated but I’m sure they will update soon. We didn’t care about the decor. Bed was nice and comfy. We had a big deck outside our room accessed by a sliding glass door. The bathroom was roomy and it had a whirlpool tub. We enjoyed our stay.
