We stayed at this hotel last year (2024) & were so impressed by the food and the services, especially from Mr Dominic Lai ( Food & Beverage Managet) that we decided to book this hotel again for our trip to Ipoh this year (2025). Unfortunately Mr Lai has left Cititel. We met Mr Albert Chong, the new Food & Beverage Manager. He & his staff ( Rafti & his friends ) were very friendly, attentive & looked after us really well, most importantly the food standard was the same as how we remembered it from the previous year. The buffet breakfast & dinner was the highlight of our trip in Malaysia, the brownie dessert is a must try. Congratulations to Albert & his team for maintaining the high quality & standard. We also like to thank Albert for his time & many enjoyable conversations. We highly recommended this hotel to anyone that wish to stay close to Ipoh Old Town & Ipoh Station. The hotel is very secure as they have a security guard & 24 hours reception at the ground floor. Your room key will only allow you to access your floor. Also, Ipoh New Town is only about 15-20 minutes walk from the hotel.
The hotel room is modern & reasonable size. The negative comment we want to make is that the walls in the room had blacks stains & we reported it to the reception staff on level 12 multiple times but we don't think they took us seriously.
Very convenient. I got two rooms for me, my husband, and my sister. My sister was scared in the middle of the night so she came to sleep in my bed, but the bed was a little small for 3 people.

Yes. However the bathroom has sewage smell and not so pleasant.
A high quality hotel but unfortuantely when we requested for extra 2 pillows, we were given 2 pillows which has wrinkle pillow cases and smells awful. When we brought the pillows down to the receptionist, we were told to bring it back to our room and a dosmetic will bring us another pair of pillows. I think its unacceptable and felt that the receptionist should at least take the dirty pillows from me instead of asking me to bring the smelly pillows back to my room. Also not a word of apolgies from the receptionist.
The check-in should not be on the 12th. It is incredibly inconvenient. The check in was a hour late and only offered coffee for the trouble. There are some weird design choices but overall a nice hotel.
Just a quick overnight stay at a budget hotel. Good value for your money. Clean and quiet inside with a convenient market on the ground floor. Did not walk around the area but looking out of the window of my room there appears to be a paved walking path along the Kinta River banks with a pedestrian bridge connecting both banks. Did not try the on-site restaurant. Parking is not on-site but shuttle is available to and from hotel.
