Very Good

This property is conveniently located next to the train station. It has an elegant feel to the lobby and dining areas, the rooms on the top floor had an old hotel feel which added to the charm. The grand staircase is classic. It is located within walking distance to dining, shopping, River Ness and bus station. The staff were very friendly.
We needed a lift and this hotel has one but when you exit the lift on the 3rd floor there are about 10 steps to climb up. Not much good for us seniors!
Highly interesting things to see and do in the lobby area (chess! books!), as well as the art and historical lithographs adorning the walls in hallways and in our room. Wonderful accommodations. And so close to the railway station and fun restaurants, including The McGregor Bar.
Very old and dated room
with a misty smell and grubby curtains , carpet and bedding . Not pleasant having to hear every sound from the room next door ,
To charge £20 a night for a dog is downright extortion , we travel a lot and never ever have we known a charge like it . We won’t be back
Hotel is right next to train station and has retained its old world charm

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The Royal Highland is in central Inverness, close to bars, restaurants, and the train station. The hotel restaurant was surprisingly good, and the staff were quite helpful. However, the hotel is sure showing its age and could use a bit of refreshing. Also, though having parking, it is VERY limited with just a handful of spaces - good luck getting one.

The two staff I encountered were not welcoming or friendly.
Only good for location if you need to be near train or bus station.

El dormitorio muy básico la cama bastante vieja y las almohadas incomodas.
First off, the room was absolutely nothing like the advertised Classic Double - see attached photo and compare to the photos on the room on this site. It was cramped and was clearly a single room that they'd put a (slightly) larger bed (which was not a proper double) in to increase their profit. Secondly, whilst the common areas are very impressive, the room was decrepit. Cracked tiles, aged fittings, freezing bathroom with no heating. Lift is, frankly, hazardous.

Disliked: Staff & service
The hotel itself is charming, however it is pretty dated. The rooms are comfortable, and the staff was nice enough. Due to its location next to the train station, parking next to the hotel isnt happening so we had to park several blocks away, at the bus station, which was challenging for one in our party that had limited mobility.

Parking was at a multi storey car park even though the hotel advertises car parking. Its right next to the main Inverness train station - but you don't hear the trains. Needs a good revamp and breakfast reminded me of Uni accommodation. Staff helpful when you could find one. Cleanliness ok.

It is clean and tidy but a bit dated. I stayed for the marathon and room price was inflated due to event weekend but that is the same for all local hotels. It is convenient for walking about and train/bus

Historic building, maintaining a lot of the historic features
The rooms are from the early times. Small but so full of character. The breakfast and room was delicious for all senses. The lobby takes precedence. Had a great time. Close to the trains and a huge mall .
Tried to get a good sleep before river ness 10k. Didn't happen. Will never book this hotel again. Could hear neighbouring room yapping until 4 in the morning and drunks outside
