The Old Police House could not be any nicer! We stayed October 12th - 15th, 2025 in this large property. Everything about the house is exceptional. Susan, the host, goes above and beyond to make everything perfect for her guests to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. She thinks of every detail. This is the most beautiful and well done house we have every stayed in on vacation. Susan is so friendly and very accessible should you have any questions. The house is spotless and every amenity you would need is provided. We were just amazed at this beautiful house and all the little details that make it so special. Beautiful bathrooms and the beds are so comfortable! We all slept very well. You cannot go wrong staying at this house. It was a perfect place for our family to relax, have fun and cook delicious meals after each day of sightseeing.

Exceptional!!!!!!! If I could I would give this place 100 stars! Best vacation home we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in a lot! I want to go back! Every detail of this house was given so much thought! Clean, enough hot water for us, like new furniture, the beds were so comfortable, new everything! Our host was so great and so helpful! This home was lovely and cozy and comfortable we didn’t want to leave! In such a lovely area!

The house was spotless, kitchen well appointed, beds soft and host very responsive. We arrived before Storm Amy and lost power before bedtime. Our host Susan made sure to check on us and make sure we were fine. There was still no power early afternoon the next day and when we made the decision to move accommodations Susan made sure to talk to VRBO and make sure we got two of our three night reservation refunded. Lastly we were using the washer when the power went out and she helped us figure out how to get the washer opened/unlocked and our clothes returned before we left! What an awesome host!!

This was a wonderful home base

Check in was very easy. The kitchen was great it had everything we needed to cook meals when we eat in. Nice and clean and very beautiful decor. Outside area was very nice as well. Just outside the city so you could get to Inverness but a nice quite country home.

Perfect for a family

This house was absolutely perfect for our group of 6- 2 grandparents, 2 parents, and 2 kids. It’s charming and cozy and the perfect home base for adventures in the highlands. One member of our group fell at a restaurant and spent the rest of our stay in a wheelchair. The house is very accessible and Susan was incredibly accommodating and responsive. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Just wonderful!

Our stay at the "Old Police House" was fantastic! The home was very comfortable and the kitchen was wonderful to cook meals in. The location was also great - nice and quiet, but close to so many things for sightseeing around Inverness. Communication and coordination leading up to the rental was also very smooth and easy. We didn't want to leave and definitely would recommend this to anyone looking for a comfortable home base from which to explore the area.

Beautiful accommodations and host.

Susan, our host, has given a lot of thought about comfort for her guests. She is amazing, and helped us after we were in a car accident. The home is tastefully appointed and in a serene location near Inverness. I would highly recommend staying here. I particularly liked the first floor walk-in shower, and having a working washer and dryer was very nice.helpful.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming Scottish home! The house was beautifully quaint with plenty of character, yet offered all the modern comforts we needed. There was tons of space for our group to spread out, and having multiple bathrooms was a total game-changer—no waiting around in the mornings! Everything was clean, cozy, and well-stocked, and the peaceful surroundings made it feel like a true getaway. Such a great location too! So close to Inverness, the airport, and quick access to lots of great sites.Highly recommend for families or groups looking for a relaxing and spacious stay in Scotland!

Beautiful cottage

This is an absolutely lovely cottage with everything you could possibly need to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The beds are very comfortable and the house is so cosy. Susan is a fantastic host and was so helpful. She provided a dog crate which we were incredibly grateful for as it saved a lot of space in the car. The location is great as it’s incredibly peaceful with lovely views but a large Tesco (along with lots of restaurants and bowling etc) are less than 15 minutes away. I would highly recommend staying in this house.

Last minute family holiday

Excellent find for our family. It was clean, and very comfortable. Showers were powerful, beds were very comfortable. Susan was so helpful salting the driveway as it had snowed over night- very magical. Would highly recommend this place and hope to return again.

Week in Scotland

The house was a perfect home-away-from home for our family of 6 adults! Everything we needed was provided, and made it easy for us to have meals at the house once we acquired some groceries from Aldi. The beds were super comfortable and the showers were perfect! Susan was a great help-stopping by one time to introduce herself, and even coming out to shovel the driveway on the morning it snowed! There were tons of historical sites within a short drive. And breakfast at the North Gateway Restaurant is an absolute must!
