Smoke alarm went off smells bad

Rental was for 2 nights only stayed one. Smells bad smoke alarm battery kept going off.

The host was great and responded almost immediately. The place was clean. Unfortunately, we didn’t end up staying because we had issues with the door code and the alarm. The smell was a little off putting for us. We didn’t know until we got there that one of the bedrooms has only a curtain in one of the doorways that connects the rooms to the hallway to the bathroom and the bathroom door was a little hard to shut. The light in the little room in the kitchen wouldn’t turn off for us either. It wasn’t a great fit for us, but it was a nice place and would be a good fit for a family instead of friends. It’s kept clean and we appreciated how quick the host was to respond.
