We arrived at 2 pm yesterday and we told the front staff we knew we were early to check in so we would hang out by the bar. At 3 we asked for an update and front desk lady just said “not ready yet”. I get it I used to work as front desk staff at a Hilton, therefore, I knew she was busy and it’s out of her control when rooms are ready. At 3:30 we went to just ask for an ETA as we had plans and needed to leave by 4:15. She just said “they have a long list of rooms so I don’t know”. I left it at that and came back at 4:15 to say we would be leaving to go to the game we had tickets too but wanted to make sure it would be okay to check in later that night to make sure our room was still there. We get back at 9 pm and when saying we are checking in the front desk agent asks very rudely “do you really need the double room” and I said “yes, there’s 3 of us” then he proceeds to say “well we oversold on double beds I don’t know what to say”. He leaves and about 5 min later another gentleman shows up, I think he was a manager. He said “sorry we oversold and have no rollaway beds. Want me to go ahead and cancel your reservation?” At 9 pm?! Trying to find a hotel that late? No other solution offered? When i worked at the hotel we always tried to find them a hotel for them to stay. We had one person sleep on the floor.
