Outside of building- looks like it was updated with paint Inside room- smelled nice but dirt in corners, firm bed, old linens and minimal extras like soap, etc A/C- cold but loud TV- basic set up, remote battery cover missing Our stay - we originally purchased 2 nights but ended up needing an extra day for medical purposes, which they accommodated (and we paid for in advance), however when the original check out came…housekeeping opened the door without knocking (left when they saw us in the bed) and then followed a little later by a man banging on the door like it was the police about to knock down the door. My husband and I were taking a nap and it took us a few minutes to get dressed in order to answer the door. This man continued to bang on the door. When I finally opened it he yelled to me that it was check out time. I told him I paid for another day and my check out was the following day. He said does your phone work, as he proceeded to call my room phone and walk toward me. He saw the phone did not ring and said no it isn’t working and turned around and walked away. No apology. Nothing.

This is by far the worst Best Value hotel I have ever stayed at. We were initially given a room on the first floor, where we found a cockroach — absolutely disgusting. We requested to change rooms and were moved to the second floor, but the cleanliness there was still very poor. The floor felt sticky, and in some areas you could clearly see leftover food crumbs. Breakfast was also extremely disappointing. The only option was cereal, which is the worst hotel breakfast I’ve seen in all my years of staying at hotels, regardless of price. I really have no idea how this place has a rating above 8 — it’s completely unearned based on my experience.

This is just a good solid hotel with a fantastic central location close to all of the major roads, the museum district, etc. It’s a major plus to have an H-E-B directly across the street. It’s a clear a refurbishment has taken place in the not too distant future. The water pressure for the shower could have been a lot better and it would have been helpful if the sink tap closed and open properly. Despite that I would stay here again for the quiet.

Americas Best Value Inn Medical Center Downtown. The staff was amazing very kind helpful and understanding during a stressful time for our family. My mother stayed at the hotel so she could be close by to help take care of my father who is in the hospital. Even though we live over five hours away the staff went above and beyond to help extend her stay without any issues. They made the process easy and were incredibly accommodating. The location is excellent with easy access and very close to the medical center which made everything much less stressful for our family. Knowing my mom was safe comfortable and supported gave us real peace of mind. We are truly grateful for the kindness professionalism and care shown by the entire staff. I would highly recommend this hotel especially for families needing to stay near the medical center.
