The Ultimate Belize Beach Vacation Rental Home

Mellow Yellow Beach House is a Caribbean Oceanfront Beach House designed to maximize the views and Caribbean breezes both inside and out. You will enjoy falling asleep to the soothing sound of the Caribbean surf outside your bedroom window(s). Two master suites are strategically located on either side of the 500+ square foot great room. Each master suite offers custom designed Belizean hardwood queen beds & night stands with reading lamps. Each has ample closet space with built-in drawers and additional inside closet lighting.



The large ensuites have 2 double sinks, quiet flush toilets, large fully tiled/glass block showers with rain shower/shower heads. There are drawers and cupboards for storage and additional accent lighting above the vanity mirrors. One bathroom contains a stacking washer/dryer tucked out of sight in a laundry closet. This is available for your use and detergent is provided.



The Great Room has a 20 foot high open beam vaulted ceiling made from 2 beautiful local woods - Nargusta and Santa Maria. The fully equipped kitchen features a double door refrigerator with ice maker and potable water dispenser, full size gas range and oven, quiet dishwasher, double stainless steel sink, granite counter-tops with a 12 foot breakfast area, 4 swivel bar stools and mahogany cabinetry all locally made.



Dining area has large table & 6 chairs which if needed comfortably seats 8. Also in the great room are two distinct seating /relaxing areas. One is the TV area which includes a 48 “wall mounted flat screen HDTV, with local rattan settee and 4 chairs. 



The floors have the same non-slip ceramic tile throughout including the 450 square foot front deck. Features of the front deck which runs the full width of the house are additional chairs, tables, and 2 hammocks one at each end, perfect for napping in the ocean breeze. The deck is capped off with a beautiful Caribbean finish, Exotic Cane Ceiling. 2 Fans are also available on the outside deck. A 2nd 500 square foot rooftop deck is accessible via the spiral staircase. This deck provides 360 degree panoramic views, ideal for enjoying the sunrises, sunsets and spectacular star gazing. It was while sitting on this deck under the expansive sky, lit by the moon rising over the sea, that we made the decision to purchase this beautiful beach home.



Construction Note: 

Please note that we’ve recently added a ground-floor unit to the property, which means the lower level is no longer an open space. Once completed, this addition will be incorporated into the original listing as part of the home.



Most of the heavy work is already finished, with only a few interior and exterior touch-ups remaining. These are being handled thoughtfully to ensure minimal impact. Your booked space is fully ready and unaffected, and we do not anticipate any disruption to your stay.

Oir 1st trip...not our last

The property is exactly as advertised! Everything you need in Hopkins is within walking distance. We were blown away with the friendliness of the locals and we didnt have a single bad meal while there. Whem booking any adventure or boating packages, everyone knew the house just by its name for easy pickup and drop-off. We fell in love and will be back!!!

The property is exactly as advertised. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Mellow Yellow Beach House. The property was very clean and fully stocked with everything you would need. I have stayed at other places with much less and am grateful for how well this property is taken care of. The sunrises on the roof were perfect. Grocery stores in walking distance as well as many restaurants. Thank you for the use of the bikes. Mirko was very easy to communicate with and was quick to respond. Beautiful house

The house is well stocked! It had everything you could ever need. The house is beautiful and comfortable! The beach is not the best for swimming but that was during the rainy season and with the sargasam so it might be better in another season. I would definitely recommend this house! The management is amazing!!!

Loved this place!

The Mellow Yellow Beach House met all our expectations! Just like the pictures! Property Manager, Mirko, went above and beyond to welcome us upon our arrival and helped us arrange all our excursions. The house is within walking distance to good local restaurants (Jalapeños, Ella’s, Peer’s Place, Driftwood) and lots of local friendly people! The drumming performance at Driftwood on Tuesday nights is a must see! Plus their Pizza was soooo good! Also, we had use of the bicycles in the garage so we took a short 10 min bike ride to Jaguar Reef Resort! Highly recommend daytime outing at Jaguar Reef! We loved Hopkins and the Mellow Yellow House!

Great house right in the center of Hopkins

They really thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. Mirko was a fantastic host, very knowledgeable and helpful in every way. We were 2 couples and the space was perfect for that setup. The rooftop was a lovely place to watch the sunset and the hammocks got a lot of use on the balcony. There is a store right across the street which was super convenient. We were unfortunately in Belize when the sargassum(seaweed) problem was about the worst it has ever been. This made the beachfront unusable and the smell was nauseating but this was a problem along the entire coastline, not unique to here. We were glad that the house was so nice to spend time in when outside was unpleasant.

Fantastic Spring Getaway

Mellow Yellow beach house is a wonderful place to getaway in Belize. The accommodation was perfect for our party of four, the town of Hopkins interesting and inviting and the hiking, cave tubing and snorkeling on the barrier reef was truly unparalleled! They call me mellow yellow

Great property for a great price. Nice full kitchen, full refrigerator, gas stove, two complete bedrooms and baths, nice size living area, great balcony with an ocean view that we got to see a picturesque full moon reflecting on. There’s a small grocery store across the road, vendors down the road a bit and a supermarket a short drive away. There are also good restaurants around. The next time we stay in Hopkins we’ll stay here again.

Incredible house with the Most Amazing Views and location

Mellow Yellow Beach House ticks all the boxes for an amazing holiday. The location: Property surrounded by mature Palm Tree, on the Caribbean Sea, just a few steps to the beach and in the center of the Village. Location: Walking distance to grocery-liquor store, and many restaurants. The Decks were our favorite hangout and we spent the majority of our time outside on the main deck watching the incredible sunrises, the various birds and the dragonflies (seasonal).In the evenings the roof top deck was the place to watch sunsets and later star gazing. The house is a vacationers dream with its large well stocked kitchen, spacious great room and 2 master bedroom bathroom suites. The large showers and spacious bathroom were a well-planned luxury. We could continue highlighting the many great features of (MYBH) as we had an unbelievable holiday and would recommend to anyone considering a vacation to Hopkins, Belize to book this property . I have added another Review written by a previous guest. She does a great job of sharing similar feelings and additional tips. The Mellow Yellow Beach House (MYBH) is the perfect vacation stay! The property is beautifully laid out, clean, well designed and gorgeous. It is evident that this is a newer build with amazing amenities. Highlights include: Open living area/kitchen that made it so much fun to cook/entertain in. Large bathrooms with huge showers (and rainfall showerheads!) and comfortable beds. Can we talk about the views!? Rooftop sunsets and the most beautiful sunrises! The beach is clean and free of any debris and I enjoyed my morning coffee while sitting on a tree stump on the beach watching the sunrise. We tried to schedule a snorkeling trip online, but they were booked. We called the property manager and he found a local instructor and booked our trip for us! Anything we needed...he happily took care of! We absolutely loved living in the Hopkins community and everyone is so friendly. (A tip I learned of; the locals don't want to bother you, so they are pretty quiet and do not acknowledge you, but if YOU say "hello"...oh my gosh...SO friendly!) Long review and there is so much more to share, but this gives you an idea as to how perfect the MYBH is...book it now before it books up!

Exactly as described!

This property is just as pictured! Absolutely beautiful house on the beach. Mirko met us at the house and gave us tour and was full of information. The house was stocked with everything we needed and more. The yard and beach in front of the property are cleaned up every other day. House was very clean. We felt completely safe in and around town (two females staying here by ourselves). We rented a car and drove from BZE airport but didn’t need the car around town at all. We walked everywhere. Grocery store is just around the corner. Mirko arranged several excursions for us to go snorkeling and cave tubing and was always available when we had questions. We stayed from September 1st-9th and some things in town were closed for off season. But the places we ate at were so good…Ella’s Cool Spot, Driftwoods, Thongs, Hopkins Smokey’s Grill were all great…Innie’s is very authentic and good. Enjoyed the drumming at Mel’s Diner and Driftwoods. We drove to The Big Dock for amazing shrimp ceviche. Everyone in town was friendly and welcoming. You won’t be disappointed with this property!

Mellow Yellow Vacation

We loved our stay at this property! We weren’t exactly sure what to expect staying in Hopkins. We were pleasantly surprised with being situated in the middle of the fishing village! The locals were extremely friendly and welcoming. Mirko was very helpful & made sure that we had everything we needed. We had a last minute change with the number of house guests. Mirko was extremely accommodating with this change and we were very appreciative. The house was stocked with all of the essentials (pots, pans, utensils for the grill, other basic items, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent/dryer sheets, sunscreen, bug repellent). We went to many wonderful local spots-Driftwood, Peer’s Place, Coconut Husk. Also, Mirko was able to coordinate any excursions that we wanted-snorkeling, hiking, zip lining, etc. We can’t wait for our next visit!

Mellow Yellow Indeed!

My family of 4 started our trip in Hopkins at our stay at the Mellow Yellow. The house was exactly what we were looking for in terms of size and comfort. Mirko had stocked the fridge with some basic amenities upon arrival. The kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking appliances and spices you needed. We were located in the center of town which was super convenient and walked to many local restaurants for our meals. Mirko was fantastic and helped arrange taxi service to and from the local airport and was very patient with us with flight time changes that we were not able to contact him about. We really enjoyed breakfast at Peers Place and fresh mango bread from the bakery that is next door. Overall, our stay was great and we plan to come back.

Beautiful Home

The property is beautiful and well stocked. We rented a property that Mirko has managed before and he is always wonderful and helpful. We hit all the delicious restaurants in town. Ella's The Coconut Husk The pizza place (so yummy!) The Mango Beach Bar yummy and funny! And Nice Cream! Just to name a few. We used the bikes to tour town so nice! We always rent a car so we went to Placencia, walked Botswana Rainforest and walked to the waterfall and went to our favorite chocolate plantation Xicacoa. Belize is a wonderful Country, Hopkins is a friendly village and the Mellow Yellow Beach House is perfect for a family vacation.

Vacation in Belize

We truly enjoyed our stay at Mellow Yellow Beach House in Hopkins, Belize . The house is centrally located in Hopkins with a beautiful beach out front and a cabana for shade. The house is very nice and supplied with everything that you may need or have forgotten. The pictures you see on the website are real, it is everything you could ask for on a beach vacation. We enjoyed many local restaurants within walking distance from the house , here are some of them...Thong’s Café, Peer’s Place, Ella’s Cool Spot, North Side Kitchen, Fred’s Lime Tree, Jalapeños, Queen Beans they were all very good and you have got to try Jashlenn’s bakery, she is always baking up something delicious . We walked the beach nearly every day, you can walk 2+ miles to the South or 1+ miles to the North. We also rode the bicycles that are included with the house to Big Dock and Lucky Lobster. Big Dock is a great place to go for the day. The grocery store is less than a half block away, there are also several local fruit and vegetable stands for anything you may need. Mirko the manager explained the need to use insect repellent at times, this is good advice. Mellow Yellow Beach House is a place we would go back to. Dave and Betty

Wonderful Home

My daughter and her family had stayed here and recommended Mellow Yellow and once we arrived I understood why. The location right on the beach was wonderful and the house was beautifully appointed with everything we could want. Hoping to return.

Perfect vacation in a perfect house

The house is great, has everything you need, and is perfectly located in the center of Hopkins. You can walk to restaurants and grocery stores; the beach is right there, and you can either sit in the sun or just watch it from the shade of the veranda; you can also see all kinds birds from the veranda. The property manager is friendly, competent and very responsive. We had a wonderful week in Mellow Yellow.

Great Place to Stay

The property was exactly as pictured online. It was perfectly comfortable for our family vacation Dec 2019. We stayed for 7 nights with 5 adults in the mellow yellow house. With 2 bedrooms, and futon, we found it met our needs exactly. Mirko added a few Christmas decorative touches for us to enjoy which was a beautiful surprise. The house was well appointed and had everything we could have ever needed including hair dryer, blender, pots, pans, dishes and drinking glasses, tea kettle, water dispenser and beach towels. The location is central in Hopkins with a grocery store for food, snacks, liquor and beer only steps away. There were so many options for dining out just a short walk from the house as well as an ice cream shop and bakery. The beach was endless, the yard kept clean, and the property was raked every couple of days. Sea stars, sting rays, sand dollars and crab were seen daily in the shallow water in front of the house. We were delighted to see dolphins playing daily in the deeper water, as we drank our morning coffee on the covered varanda. Bring binoculars! We forgot. Definately the nicest house in this location.

Relaxing to the Max at the Beach

We would recommend Mellow Yellow to anyone who wants to have a relaxing vacation at the beach. Swimming at 7:00 am in the warmest waters we ever experienced. Mirko, the property manager, was always available for any questions we had and provided us with valuable information about the area and which restaurants were best...and they were all good! Everything you'll need is in walking distance. Small town charm with friendly, polite people...
