The room was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. Loved the shareable soap and shampoos. Smelled like lavender, wonderful scent! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is absolutely beautiful! So many areas to explore and see, also sit and relax. Next time I will stay another night. So much to enjoy around the hotel.

Pros: Beautiful historic train station hotel. Lovely grounds, even on first day of winter. Room was cozy, quaint, well decorated, no issue with train noise. Easy walk into Winslow. Staff was friendly. Cons: The hotel is right next to the train tracks and a stop for Amtrak. I had requested a room away from the tracks to minimize the sound (first time staying there, so I wasn’t sure if noise would be an issue). When I checked in, they gave me a room close to the tracks. When I reminded the desk clerk of my room request he only then noticed it in the comments. Fortunately, I checked in fairly early and he found a room away from the tracks. I wasn’t able to make a dinner reservation before 7pm. Then they delayed my reservation until 7:30 (kitchen closes at 8pm). I think they moved my reservation back because I was a single diner. I went in and ate at the bar instead. Food was just okay, nothing special, and definitely not worth the price. I don’t mind paying top dollar for excellent food and service. I just thought it would be nice to try out the hotel restaurant. I did meet some nice people at the bar, although one local next to me was bery drunk. Was hoping to try out their breakfast, but they don’t serve until 8 and I left at 7. Last con is access. Access to room required a walk through the gift shop and all the way through the hotel to get to my room, despite the emergency exit just steps from my room. Only an issue if you have heavy bags.

What a great way to end 2025, got to check off a trip from my bucket list: train trip to the La Posada. Had the privilege of staying at a beautifully restored Pueblo Deco hotel along with a train trip before the year's end. The train had me arriving at the crack of dawn(actually it was still pitch black when we de-boarded) and of course, the room was not available but the beauty of La Posada was that it was a stone throws distance from the train tracks. We were met with a warm toasty lobby and fireplace in the ballroom along with hot tea and hot cocoa. We got cozy and they were gracious enough to have our room ready ahead of 3pm! This gave us a chance to freshen up from our awesome train ride, the SW Chief. I personally requested the Amelia Earhart room so I could be facing the original entrance of the hotel, train side. We were able to hear the swoosh of the wheels and toots of the horn, as a deaf person it was so nice to hear something so soothing(not for everyone I'm sure). We chose the room with 2 beds and it was spacious for us toiletries were Las Poblanos. We quickly made dinner reservations at the Turquoise Room for dinner and started to explore the hotel. So much to see from enjoying the layout and architecture to the interior delights along with Tina Mion's artwork. We even had a chance to walk into town and get a quick view of downtown. The hotel is conveniently located just east of downtown and it was an easy stroll. It was a privilege to stay here.

Historic and lovely hotel that was walking distance to the downtown square. The gift shop and book store were great and the staff were very friendly. We plan to visit again in the spring to see the gardens in bloom.
