Great for young couples wanting to stay in the main part of Hobart, close to shopping and restaurants. The best part about this hotel is the location and views. If those two things aren’t a priority for you, then you could save quite a bit of money by staying at the Ibis up the road. A few family members stayed there, and we all agreed it offered better value for money, with a huge pool and a sauna.
Our room was clean but slightly outdated. Most rooms have the shower positioned over a bath, which was a hazard for our elderly grandparents traveling with us. The concierge offered a stool to help them get into the shower, but unfortunately wasn’t able to provide a safer alternative room. Something to be mindful of if you’re traveling with older people.
The buffet breakfast was okay, but there are much nicer options at local cafes. Also worth noting - coffee wasn’t included in the buffet and had to be purchased separately, which was disappointing.
The bed was very firm, though mattress toppers and a range of pillows were available.
The pool is quite small, but it wasn’t busy during our visit.
One downside was the parking. $25 per day, which felt excessive, especially on top of the room rate.
Overall, I’d rate this hotel 4 stars.
