When I rented the room through Expedia I was told there was staff at the front desk between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and check in time was 4:00 p.m. On my way to Hilton Head I got a text from 210 area code saying that I had to do an online check-in because nobody was working at the front desk. I received a another text saying to do an online check-in looking for my credit card information too. I was told not to give my credit card information out to third parties. When I arrived at the hotel there was nobody in the office or no staff to be found. I sent texts back to the hotel asking for my room number and entry code and was told I wouldn't receive it until I gave my credit card information out. At this point I felt like I was being held hostage just to check in by giving my credit card to an attachment to a text. It's been my worst experience yet on renting rooms regularly on Expedia. The hotel was also rated as good with an 8 out of 10 rating I would give the hotel no more than a four or five out of 10 as a rating. Very disappointed with my stay there and wanting to make sure there's no miscellaneous charges on my credit card!.

Literally Sucked... wouldn't stay again... the No Staff is one thing but renting the parking lot to 7 plus Tour Busses 4 of which parked outside our door ... a light outside our room lit up the rom like a football stadium... Tour Busses opening cargo doors and starting diesel engines... it was clean ... beds are real hard with little cushion... hot water .. that's it

Exterior of the property and the grounds are in bad shape. Room was pretty nice, new floors, paint. Bed is comfortable. Television did not work and although we did finally find someone on our way out I do not like the contact-less check in. We didn't get there until after 5, I had misplaced my phone and we sent a message from my wifes phone earlier in the day with our names, confirmation number etc. but no answer. I brought my laptop in and finally was able to access my email with check in info in the lobby. No one answered at the number posted at the desk. Keeping someone at the desk for a few hours at night is not a huge expense.

Right next to Adventure Golf which was wonderful to just get to walk over to play! The hotel manager was absolutely wonderful and quick to come help when we couldnt figure out how to log in to our TV

The staff was amazing it is no contact so we only saw one lady who was incredibly helpful! The bathroom door didn’t shut or lock in our room and the bathtub was clogged so the water wouldn’t drain very fast. They had towels and 2 little soap bars in the room but that’s it. Honestly though would stay here again the room isn’t that spacious but wasn’t terrible either!

Love the location, pool was clean although still cold to swim, loved our room and I believe new flooring and big TV. Love the new locks, we hate key cards so it was nice to see that. We'll be back for sure.

We were there for one night. The room was very clean. Although the hotel uses contactless check in, our check in and code came about an hour early. They also provide information about the area restaurants and things to do. Our schedule did not afford us pool time, but pool looked very inviting.

The rooms have been redone since last we were here and they look great. We loved not having to carry a key card around, the new coded locks were a plus. We really enjoyed our quick pit stop on our way to Miami and look forward to coming back on our way back home next week.

It's a great location and price is reasonable. The property is currently being renovated under new ownership after years of neglect apparently. It's quiet (on a Thursday night) and comfortable with a little harbor within walking distance with shops, restaurants, etc. I'd do it again.

I had a great stay at Hotel Carolina. The room was recently renovated, very clean, and extremely comfortable. You can tell a lot of care has gone into updating the property. The mid-island location is excellent—very convenient for getting around Hilton Head and close to everything you need. I did have to ask the front desk for a few extra towels, and they were incredibly helpful and quick to assist. Overall, the service was great. The contactless check-in and check-out process was also super easy and convenient, which made the whole stay very smooth. Overall, the room was nice, the location was great, and it felt like an excellent value for the price. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. A++ 👍
