The apartment is spread over two floors and measures approximately 110 square meters. Both floors offer a wonderful view of Heidelberg Castle. There are few apartments in Heidelberg with such a view.
On the lower floor (2nd floor), you'll find the living-dining area with a fully equipped kitchen, a large dining table, and a comfortable couch, as well as two bedrooms, each with a double bed. One of the two bathrooms, featuring a walk-in shower and rainforest showerhead, is also located on this level. There's also a small room housing the washing machine and dryer. The balcony (again with a breathtaking view of the castle) is one of the highlights of this apartment.
The attic features a spacious bedroom/living area, a second bathroom, and air conditioning. All rooms up here offer a sensational view of Heidelberg Castle.
The house is connected to the district heating system, combining historic walls with 21st-century amenities.
An important note: The apartment is on the 2nd and 3rd floors and you will have to climb stairs; the building has no elevator.
A bus stop is just a 3-minute walk away.

The history of the house, which houses four holiday apartments, dates back to the 15th century. At that time, it housed the castle's forestry department. The house is located in the heart of the old town, close to the Church of the Holy Spirit, the town hall, and the market square, and on the outer edge of the pedestrian zone. We, our family with two small children, had a wonderful time in the Himmelreich apartment during the time that we spent there. Our favorite aspects were the great location, the castle view, and the air conditioning on the second floor for the warmer days. We would definitely recommend it!

Magical

Wonderful memories made! Our family spent Christmas week here, enjoying the close proximity to the Christmas markets and everything old town. The castle views were magical and the apartment very comfortable for our family to stay. There were basic necessities (kitchen basic supplies, umbrellas), and even some nice touches (heated bathroom floors)! My family of 5 stayed here comfortably, and my parents stayed at a smaller unit in the bottom of the building, which was perfect because it had less stairs. Highly recommend!

The apartment was perfect for our family to enjoy a week in Heidelberg. The location is excellent. The apartment views are spectacular! We were there during Christmas markets and while the location was right there amongst the fun it was peaceful and quiet at night. The apartment was very comfortable. It was spotless and had easy access to a grocery store for breakfast items and drinks. The kitchen had all the supplies needed if you choose to cook in. We enjoyed all the great restaurants. The host was kind enough to let us check in a bit early as we arrived earlier than expected and it was inclement weather and had to be dropped off by car service. The only kind advice I would pass on is, as the beds are extremely comfortable, the pillows were not. Perhaps additional pillows of a different type to choose from would provide a bit more comfort. Overall, I would highly recommend this property. Thank you!

Wonderful apartment in beautiful Heidelberg

The apartment was exactly as described - extremely well-equipped and spotlessly prepared. The location is excellent - only a few paces from Heidelberg's main street. All shopping needs are catered for nearby (we thoroughly recommend the bakery Zeit Fur Brot!). A boat trip on the Neckar, a visit to the wonderful Heidelberg castle (visible from the apartment), a walk on Philosophers' Way and a lovely organ concert in the Church of the Holy Spirit were highlights of our stay. Thanks to Martina, the apartment owner, for her excellent communication. We thoroughly recommend a stay here.

Perfect Location

The castle views are wonderful and the apartment location is equally phenomenal. The apartment is spacious, clean and quiet. Numerous shops and restaurants are surprisingly close and just a few steps away. The apartment had plenty of space for our family of 6, and in the July heat, the air conditioned attic level was a blessing. When we had questions, the owner responded very quickly and positively. We would absolutely stay here again!

Perfect Apartment for my family’s holiday.

We could not have asked for a better apartment for our vacation. The location is fantastic and only a block from the main street with all of the shops and restaurants. You have a view of the castle from the window and balcony. The apartment was clean and exactly as described. The property manager was fantastic and quickly responded when my teenage son locked all the keys in the apartment by mistake. Highly recommend.

Wonderful property and location

We loved staying at this updated and extremely clean apartment. It is wonderfully located in the old town of Heidelberg near the Hauptstrasse and just a funicular ride up to the Castle. The beds were comfortable, and with two bedrooms and a bath located downstairs (along with the kitchen and living room) and a bedroom and bath plus a sitting room upstairs, we, two couples, had the space and privacy we needed. The deck is wonderful and offers exceptional views of the Castle, as do three other spaces in the apartment. The apartment is located on the third floor, so there are steps to climb. We are in our 70s and considered them our exercise for the day. I would definitely enjoy staying here again!

Clean and great location!

We rented this beautiful apartment in the centre of Heidelberg Altstadt to host my family during a destination wedding. Everything about our stay was wonderful, and I highly recommend this booking or anyone who is looking for a relaxing retreat while still being only steps away from marktplatz. The apartment was on the 3rd and 4th floor, and it offered a full kitchen with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The balcony offered stunning views of Heidelberg Palace and was a great place to relax when you just needed to get a bit of peace and quiet.

Fantastic stay.

Amazing VRBO experience!

I cannot overstate how much we enjoyed staying at this property. Everything was well documented for our arrival, the host was very communicative, the place was clean and huge! Our kids loved it, the kitchen had everything we needed, the balcony was awesome with a view of the castle, the neighborhood was so quaint, and the location to everything you need was perfect! You are a mere 1 min walk to a bus stop, and the Bergbahn to travel up the mountain to the castle. A 1 min walk the other direction puts you on the Main Street where you can buy food, eat out, go shopping, etc. I don’t think it gets better, honestly.

Absolutely magic

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Himmelreich apartment in Heidelberg City Center, the location was incredible with the Heidelberg Schloss just steps from the doorway and an abundance of amazing restaurants and shopping. The apartment was modern and well appointed with all the amenities our family needed for a comfortable extended stay. There is an incredible view of the Castle from apartment which we truly enjoyed. The owners were readily available and very helpful with check in and check out. We will definitely be back!

Great host

The apartment is great. Location is perfect for walking to main Heidelberg attractions like the castle, bridge, old town markets, etc. The host was kind enough to help us get packages delivered before Christmas, which we really appreciated. The only cautionary item for those considering booking is that there are a lot of narrow staircases to maneuver in order to access the apartment. So if you have large bags or are in any way unable to climb many floors, it may not be ideal for you. Otherwise, it is perfect!

We had a wonderful stay at the Heidelberg House. Such a rare find for a spacious three bedroom apartment this close to Altstadt. It was perfect for our three generation family of six, including teens, adults, and seniors. Martina was very helpful in answering our questions and helping us out. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer!

Perfect Stay In Old Town Heidelberg!

The location was perfect as the main square is just a stroll from your door! We loved the electronic check-in system, as we always hate to have others waiting for us to arrive. The apartment is beautiful and well equipped. The views of the castle and surrounding hillside are amazing from the rooms and the patio. The air-conditioning was an added bonus as it was very hot during our stay. All of the beds were very comfortable, and there were plenty of pillows! If stairs are an issue for you, note that this apartment is on the top floor, with steep steps. Also, this apartment is in a pedestian-only area. It is easy to access with a car though. We dropped off our belongings, then turned in our car rental so we would not have to deal with parking.

The apartment was perfect for our family. Our two teens were thrilled to have their own rooms and we were just as thrilled to have ours upstairs. Air conditioning in an apartment is unheard of - we were very grateful, as it got fairly warm! So close to everything we wanted. Literally- the perfect location. We will totally stay there again!!!

Lovely Heidelberg

The property was as described clean, well equipped, in a quiet neighborhood but within walking distance of many amenities. A very nice place to stay for our visit to Heidelberg. We really enjoyed the views of the castle at night. (I’m sure the view is equally good during the day but we weren’t in much during the day.)
