The Jesus Maria hotel was a great place to stay during our trip to Havana. Old Havana is not the bustling beauty it once was, and it could certainly use some time, money and attention to bring it back; but that is part of the charm and why one might want to spend time there. Much effort has been put into some buildings, and the Jesus Maria hotel is one of these. The care to detail is evident, and they were able to put in modern conveniences and still maintain the historic charm of the building. Breakfast is served on the rooftop with individual care to your desires. Location: Just across the street from the water and minutes away from the El Capitolio, Plaza de San Francisco de Asis, Calle Obispo and the Grand Theater. But far enough from the hub-bub to provide a very quiet stay. Let’s talk about customer service: It was excellent. From the time we arrived to the day we left, the staff was available to meet our needs, answer our questions, and to wave us goodbye as our car drove away. We had reached out to Arianne (manager) before arriving, and she made arrangements with drivers for us, and they were top-notch. I have no hesitation recommending the Jesus Maria hotel to anyone visiting Havana who would like a bespoke experience in old the town.

This hotel is privately owned and is near the southern border of Old Town by the sea. It is fairly easy to walk to all locations of Havana Vieja. A different staff member is available is available every 24 hours. The staff are very polite, friendly, and helpful with tourist needs such as booking taxis and restaurants, food preparation, and advice about Havana and beyond. The rooms are spacious and clean with three meter ceilings and AC. The room service is excellent - sheets and towels are changed daily. All staff speak English to some degree. Some staff are completely fluent and have lived overseas. Free breakfast is available. People in Havana are very friendly, helpful, and not intrusive and it is possible to walk almost anywhere without risk, even in the dark.

Wow this hidden gem was amazing! Everything from the beautiful decor to the rooftop area for breakfast and the helpful, always smiling staff We just got back and loved our stay and I would highly recommend Fantastic location next to water (map on here does not depict correct location) and walking distance to Viejo Square There is also a warehouse building close by that sells souvenirs and fun items Staff was always willing to answer questions and help out getting a taxi and offering dinner recommendations A+++ Very clean Didn’t mention beautiful decor…tasteful antiques, 30 ft ceilings! Our room had a small kitchen with fridge, large bathroom, entry area, dining room and two twin beds, huge doors that led to Juliet balconies, many outlets to plug things in, toiletries and serene atmosphere Breakfast was on upstairs terrace…coffee, juices, fruit, homemade bread and eggs to order Stairs only…no evevator Thank you Adrienne and everyone! Sanctuary in Old Havana

My husband and I are so glad that we booked this boutique hotel. The hotel is tastefully renovated, the rooms are elegant and spacious, all the rooms have high ceilings and French doors. We booked Executive King Suite that is located next door the main building and our room has a separate living room with nice couch and chairs. Bed is comfortable and shower has good pressure. The hotel is located at the edge of old Havana at the waterfront which gives easy access to walk to everywhere but also quiet in the evening. All the staff are very friendly and helpful, they arranged our transportation to other part of the country and the taxi drivers that they engaged were all on time and reasonable priced. We stayed at JM7 for total of six nights, used it as our base in Cuba, traveling to Vinales and Tranidad, we were so looking forward to back to JM7 at the end of each trip, feeling like we were going home.

Experience Cuban-luxury home from bygone era

The architecture and layout of this casa was pleasing & interesting and quirky but very well maintained & in excellent condition. Our room was quite spacious and the housekeeping was excellent. Lots of steps to room and breakfasts (separate area for some rooms)so be forewarned that this casa is not for the person that cannot handle steps. Communications with the "managers"were limited. There were 4 "managers" that rotated. Friendly & cordial but they were not forthcoming with information or willing to help with recommendations. We endured a nation-wide blackout and continued power outages during our 3-day stay. We understood that this was out of their control but at the price per night of this casa there should have been a back-up generator in place. The higher standard of Jesus Maria 7 accommodations became worthless without basic utilities... We had no hot water and only a trickle of water during the outages and NO internet!! You are pretty much on your own to gain information. One of the managers WAS very friendly and helpful and set us up with our taxi to Trinidad. (But later we learned the price was way out-of-line and we paid at least twice the going rate. On our last day the manager told us that the (4)bottled waters they "gave" us was at no charge because of the blackouts. Really?? A high note were the beautiful breakfasts every morning! Last morning we finally got to have our breakfast on the terrace (as promised in Hotels.com listing)and it was fabulous!

This is a wonderful boutique hotel! It is quaint, clean and decorated beautifully. I loved everything about it. The staff were amazing and were eager to help in anyway. The breakfast included on the roof was delicious. The area is a bit sketchy but to get into the hotel you have to ring to get in as the door is always locked. I felt safe at all times. It is definitely worth the stay!

Our stay here was amazing! The entire staff was attentive and accommodating from the day we arrived in Havana. We were picked up from the airport in a classic car (we paid about $30 for the transport) When we arrived at the b and b, a young man who I think manages the facility, Yadir, greeted us on arrival. The facility was pristine. Worth every penny. Our room was absolutely stunning, designed like nothing I’ve ever seen. It was air conditioned with an open floor plan, Godzilla high ceiling, and the bathroom was fully stocked with all the necessary toiletries. In the morning, they have a simple complimentary breakfast of fruit, eggs, and toast, with the best coffee around, and a 24 hour bar on the rooftop. The neighborhood isn’t too bad, and within walking distance (10-20min) of the center of old Havana, where all the restaurants are. If you’re looking to travel to Havana and want an overall stress free introduction to Cuba, I recommend Jesus Maria a thousand times!

Best boutique hotel in Havana.

Our stay at JM7 was a wonderful beginning of our Cuba adventure. Everyone at JM7 was super friendly, thoughtful, and helpful. Our bedroom was amazing ~ spacious, comfortable, tastefully decorated, with AC and great internet. Breakfast on the rooftop was a treat. The location is within walking distance of many great restaurants, the historic center, and the bay. We stayed at 4 other places in Cuba but JM7 was the best. We highly recommend staying at JM7 when you visit Havana.
