Come relax in our Driftwood Retreat, a cabin located in La Mirada Country Estates (a family-friendly park with pool access)! The cozy atmosphere, and fun charm, is a wonderful way for you to relax and enjoy your stay! Inside, guests find a cozy bedroom with a queen bed, perfect for restful nights. The cabin also features a living room with a bunk bed and a sofa bed, offering flexible sleeping options. A bright bathroom includes a refreshing shower and a hair dryer for convenience. 18 minutes to Harlingen Airport; 35 minutes to McAllen; 11 minutes to Mercedes outlets; 45 minutes to South Padre Island; 1 Hour to SpaceX. Additional units may be available for larger groups!
RESERVATION ESSENTIALS:
The open floor plan allows you and your guests to spread out throughout the unit. Whether you’re staying for a short visit, or staying long term, the functional and well-stocked kitchen is perfect for preparing meals and keeping your stay on a budget! Get a great night’s rest on our comfortable beds! The outside has mature trees, and a large deck with awning, offering a shady spot to relax and enjoy the breeze.
SLEEPING AREAS:
This unit has 3 sleeping zones. Bedroom 1 has a Queen-size bed. The front room has a Queen-size hide-away couch. The hall between the bedroom and front room has a twin bunk bed. We make each bed with provided pillows, linens, and blankets. There is no need for you to bring your own bedding unless you wanted to put someone on the floor.
KITCHEN SUPPLIES:
The kitchen is fully stocked with all of the essentials, including serving dishes, silverware, cups, glasses, mugs, pots, pans, griddle, toasters, microwave, blender, coffee maker, crock-pot, mixing bowls, measuring cups, strainers, and basic spices.
TOILETRIES AND CLEANING SUPPLIES:
We have bathing towels, hand towels, and rags. We also supply dish soap, scrubbers, cleaning rags, and basic cleaning supplies. We do supply large generic shampoo and body wash; but you may want to bring your own if you have a particular brand you prefer to use.
ENTERTAINMENT:
The home has access to Wi-Fi for your laptop, and smart TVs with apps you can sign into. Guests also have access to La Mirada’s community swimming pool, and access to their board games, puzzles, and library of books.
LAUNDRY ROOM:
You have access to La Mirada Country Estates community laundromat, with large commercial washers and dryers, at a reasonable rate.
PARKING:
Guests have two free parking spaces in front of the home. There is additional guest parking available in the guest parking lot.
CHECK-OUT DUTIES:
This is your vacation time, and we want you to be able to relax and enjoy your stay with us! In return, we do ask for a few simple check-out tasks to help us prepare the home in time for the next guests, as well as to help us keep our costs down so that we can continue to offer the home at a budget-friendly rate! In preparation for your departure, we only ask you to place your used rags and towels on the bathroom floor, wash any dishes you used, and put your trash in the home’s trash bins. We’ll take care of the rest!
Guest Access: You will have the entire home for you and your guests. The laundry room and swimming pool are shared with the La Mirada Country Estates community.
Interaction with Guests: The La Mirada Country Estates onsite manager and maintenance crew are available to assist you during business hours, Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM. They are a fantastic resource to answer any questions, or to assist you with issues of the home if any arises. The door is accessed through a key located in a lockbox, so you can check-in after hours with no problem.
Other Details: La Mirada Country Estates is a family friendly mobile home and RV park. Even though we allow families in the community, the property is very quiet, with neighbors respecting each other’s privacy and quiet time. The property has friendly on-site managers that can assist you to plan for activities, suggest activities, or places to visit. Harlingen/McAllen area has shopping, nightlife, museums, outdoor recreation areas, a science center, as well as many locales where birdwatchers can find endemic and migratory species.
