Charleville-Mézières (38 km), the prefecture and world capital of puppetry, birthplace of Arthur Rimbaud, offers museums, churches, Place Ducale, and its grand puppeteer who tells an Ardennes legend every hour. World Puppet Festival in September 2025.
Sedan (58 km) and its castle, the largest fortress in Europe, also hosts medieval tournaments in July and August.
