Ok ryokan but is old and run down

It’s a old ryokan passed it prime time. It’s basically not bad, but is old and run down. Maybe the Covid period made it worse as the condition of the ryokan deteriorated further without upgrades. Service is good. Far away from city center but there’s shuttle bus.

お部屋は年季は入っているが清潔であり、またスタッフの方々も丁寧で大変心地がよかった。残念な点は下記2点 【朝食】 旅館なのに和食はご飯のおとも程度のおかず、一方で洋食、中華は充実。さらに数少ない和食も地域の名産品はほぼない。せっかくなら高くなってもよいので、和食、それも地元や地域の名産品を味わいたかった。 【温泉】 ホテル側に非はないのだが、海外からのお客様には温泉の入り方が理解しづらいようで、体を洗うこともかけ湯もせずにいきなり浴槽に入る方が非常に多く、気分が悪かった。英語や多言語での注意喚起をしてはどうでしょうか？

函館市のホテルの値上がりがひどい中、さして値上げもせず、場所も電停からさほど遠くなく、駐車場も狭くなく、バイキングの品数も十分でした。湯の川は加水温泉が多い中、源泉掛け流しが一つあったのもよかったです。
