we have dinned out on our stay at this quirky property. First of all we couldn't find it, it is not at the location google maps says. Eventually a market trader took pity on us and phoned the hotel and they came to get us. The cave room was very musty and dark, so we changed to another one. Fabulous views and own terrance. The hotel is very spread out with limited parking but the terraced areas near the rooms are great. Two dinning choices buffet or Turkish restaurant, buffet is best. We were it by a flash flood on our second night with water running down the cave walls. When we eventually got out and got to reception we were moved to another cave, bigger nicer a dry! An eventful stay in a good location for hiking the Ilhara valley, nice helpful staff, some of which speak English, and fabulous views from the hotel terraces.

The staff is really friendly. The breakfast is magnificent, the city with its restaurants is cozy and lovely. The price is unbearable. However, the distance to the tourist destinations is really really long. Furthermore, there’s no daily cleaning and it’s not a place for resting. The terrace and the bar in front of the apartments invites visitors for late nights partying.

classic stone town / monastery vibes with sunsets

while the picture hotels.com showed wasn't what i got , my room was just as lively and had a balcony ...z this place is a stones throw to two underground cities and a 8th century greek orthodox church has amazing sunset views and provide a little bit of paradise in a classic stone town/ monastery

The internet does not work. We tried all locations and we asked all the staff and no one helped. Other than that the room is nice and it's a good experience in general. The town is wonderful. The room can benefit from more cleaning.

Enjoyed a wonderful evening in a cave overlooking Ihlara Valley. We had difficulty finding where to check-in, but when a local called the hotel, the staff came to take us to the reception desk. Staying in a cave room was an enjoyable experience.

It was a lovely place but you have to remember you are staying in a cave, which is a bit musty and the ceilings are low. So if you are looking for luxury, this is not the place but if you are looking for a great experience, enjoy!

Comfortable (but hard to find) hotel in Guzelyurt

The room was great and excellent value-for-money. This place is a bit out of the way in two senses: it is in Guzelyurt, so it's already not central (but a good, and recommended, break from Goreme!) and then even once you get to Guzelyurt it is challenging to find the hotel. However, once you find it, the facilities are superb.

Room with a view

Cappadocia Ihlara Mansions and Caves offers both options but in an appealing and creative way. Offering standard rooms in buildings in hotel fashion or walking down the old cities paths to individual arched or cave rooms a 5 min. walk away, the staff's hospitality is evident. We occupied two separate arched rooms with beautiful views of Mount Hasan and overlooking Monastery Valley. Room size and style vary a lot since the owner took over abandoned Greek houses and caves and has totally renovated them. You should look over the rooms before accepting them due to their variety. Most cave rooms - like everywhere else - can be a bit musty and damp, but arched rooms are generally much less so. Breakfast is in a separate building near the main building/reception. The main building has a bar and a large TV room and a large stone patio. The town center is small but there are several restaurants and grocery stores nearby. On the square itself and nearby there are several ceramics/handicraft stores, with an information office nearby on the main street. We have stayed here twice and enjoy the people, the town, the view, the underground small cities below, the churches, and the hiking in the Ihlara Valley. We'll be back.

Great for visiting the Ihlara Valley

The Cappadocia Ihlara Mansions and Caves are not one hotel per se but an interesting collection of rooms and properties in Guzelyurt. Many new rooms are being readied that overlook the Manaster Vadesi (Monastery Valley) that are quite nice and have a view of Mt. Hasan. Breakfast was offered in the room or in a separate facility down the street and was quite filling. It consisted of eggs, cheeses, bread, homemade jam and honey, olives, peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers. There is a separate reception building that has a bar, a large screen TV, and a small fire burning in the fireplace when we were there. There was sufficient heat and hot water in the winter, but no TV in the rooms - which was fine with us. Wireless was available. The service staff were very helpful and some spoke English. Parking was available close to the rooms and staff helped carry bags to and from the car. There are limited food options in town but 3-4 restaurants were sufficient - the Guzelyurt Pide Salonu was fine for us and the least expensive. Guzelyurt is a short drive from the Ihlara Valley - great hiking by the creek and poplar trees and an opportunity to visit ancient cave churches - though many frescos are quite damaged. We stayed three nights.

Charming Cave Hotel with Superior Service

Friendly and helpful staff greet you at the door and serve you complementary drinks on the roof terrace with an amazing view of the surrounding fairy chimneys. We stayed in an actual cave with all the comforts of home. The free morning breakfast was delicious and our hosts guided us to nearby restaraunts for other meals. Make sure to have them have them arrange for an early morning balloon ride.
