THE TOWN OF GUIDEL
A stone’s throw from Lorient, between land and sea, Guidel appeals to nature lovers and history buffs alike. Accessible by road, coastal paths or hiking trails, the town reveals a heritage where Breton traditions blend with maritime horizons. Its vast beaches fringed with dunes, its bustling marina and the meandering Laïta river offer a landscape that changes with the tides and seasons.
The Church of Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul, the chapels scattered across the countryside, the coastal fortifications and Fort du Loch are a reminder of the town’s rich maritime and spiritual past. On the nature front, the Loc’h nature reserve and the Grand Loc’h ponds are home to exceptional flora and fauna, making Guidel a true haven for outdoor enthusiasts.
