Room was clean and nice. I certainly wouldn’t call it Luxury at least not by US standards, but it was more than adequate. The huge highlight is the location, walk out the back door of the lobby and you’re right on the River, huge number of restaurants to choose from and lots of activity. It also felt very safe, there seems to be a large police presence all along the boardwalk. You can easily walk to LaPerla and the length of Malecon which includes lots of things to do museums, art studios, ride’s, attractions shopping and eating. During the day (I wouldn’t do it at night) you could easily walk up to the 400 steps to the lighthouse or out to Iguana Park and the cathedral. Also Sweet and Coffee is right next door.
The location could also be a reason to hate it. Even on the 7th floor there was lots of noise from the boardwalk until 2 or 3 in the morning. The single pain windows are not going to keep it out, they also move in their tracks when the wind blows causing an annoying click that would wake me up. But if you love to be part of the party it’s great. The windows open and you can enjoy the sounds of people playing and partying below. I found a sleep mask and brown noise from a Spotify playlist made sleeping easy when I was ready for the party to end.
Negatives: No laundry facility in house. The furniture in the living room is odd and uncomfortable. The leather had held up over time but the cloth is faded and worn. Elevators can be hard to catch when everyone is leaving.
