Front desk man was nice. Breakfast was pretty good, had scrambled eggs and sausage gravy with biscuits alongside with the usual toast, bagels and fruits. Pool looked a little rough, but had no plans to use it anyhow.

For the price we paid ($37/night) I can’t say enough about the value. The staff were all friendly and great and the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good for a free hotel breakfast (the typical cereal/yogurt/waffle machine/toast/juice/coffee plus scrambled eggs and biscuits and sausage gravy). The man who checked us in and seemed to be the main staff person was very friendly and competent. I would stay here again anytime I’m in Grinnell. The pool whitecoat could use some help (there are patches in it which look unsightly) but that doesn’t make a pool unsafe (I’m a certified pool operator so I know) but if the pool is important to you that might be one reason to stay elsewhere.

Bed springs on the mattress were poking me and the breakfast was minimal , but everything looks the same when your eyes are closed Budget friendly so don’t expect the 4seasons at a budget price. Would I stay there again? Yeah, why not,,,, just maybe a bed that doesn’t poke me in the back while I’m sleeping. Were there bugs? I don’t know because I didn’t want to check… don’t need those nightmares for 3 nights. But the employees were friendly

I found the bed to be inadequate to sleep comfortably. I don't know if it was too soft or the lower metal frame that was flexing like a metal can, but I could not find a comfortable spot and I slept across the top of the bed where the pillows usually are. I did these 2 nights and then left; the staff were nice but the bed was terrible
