We enjoyed many aspects of our stay, but our first room had a very strong urine odor. Most likely a pet from a previous stay had urinated on the carpet. When we brought this to the attention of the staff, the housekeeping manager came to inspect the room but said she could not detect the smell. The hotel did respond by arranging for the carpet to be cleaned and shampooed, so we stayed in the room that night.
Unfortunately, around 4:00 a.m., both of us woke up because the urine odor had become very noticeable again. The next morning, we reported the issue once more, and the hotel promptly upgraded us to a different apartment. The new accommodation was excellent, and from that point on, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is clean, well maintained, and in a convenient location. The breakfast offered an excellent variety of choices, the views were beautiful, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
My only suggestion would be to improve the pet policy. I support allowing guests to travel with their pets, but it may be beneficial to designate specific pet-friendly rooms, require additional protective measures to prevent accidents on carpeting, or consider replacing carpets with hard flooring in pet-friendly accommodations. These changes would help prevent unpleasant odors for future guests while still maintaining a welcoming environment for pet owners.
Despite the initial issue, we appreciated the way the hotel resolved issue and we’ll recommend it.
