Room is clean and huge. Television is pretty new and large. The view from the balcony is great and balcony is massive. Bed is one of the best in all the hotel we have stayed. very convenient spot and quiet. The breakfast has the most options to choose from and I am missing it already. The only one downside that could be improved is the shower is weak and the hot water is kind of inconsistent. But I found it quite a typical problem in swiss hotel in general. But overall highly recommend! Just look at my photos. It is worth it!

The setting is unbelievable, like all hotels in Grindelwald. Our room opened onto a spacious patio with amazing views. The room itself was fine, nothing remarkable about it. During a September visit, we would have liked to have utilized the sauna but we were told it was only open on request during the "summer months." We would have preferred to stay somewhere with more amenities such as a pool or hot tub but we had a pleasant 1-night stay here nonetheless.

The owners/hosts were exceptional. You were greeted as soon as you walked in the door. Everything was in order and they gave great details on room, meals and local activities. The breakfast was wonderful and service exceptional. If you stay here, please be sure and take the path behind the hotel. Views are breath taking. I would not hesitate to recommend or stay here again. A++++

Wonderfully hospitable service and excellent attention to detail. The owners were very kind and offered kind suggestions of things to do in the area. The location is perfect as well - right at the end of hustle and bustle of Main Street but easy walking access to everything. Also, we had stunning views of the glacier and peaks from our room! Absolutely loved this hotel!

charming family-owned mountain hotel in wonderful location. the only complaint was the very uncomfortable bed, which did not provide a good night's rest.

Everything was nice about this hotel. It had great views, it was clean, the rooms were spacious. The only issue we had was that they were very stingy with ice. We asked for ice so that we could cool some white wine. She would only give us a small glass of ice. It made us feel like we were not the priority since she said that she needs to have plenty for dinner paying customers. We spend a lot on the room itself. It just rubbed us the wrong way. He did suggest a great hike and gave us First tickets which was very convenient. Breakfast was great.

This was everything we had hoped for and more! We booked a superior double room. It was spacious and had two large single beds pushed together. Our room had chairs for seating and the bathroom was big enough with updated facilities. The shower was also nicely sized (vs the standard ‘cruise ship’ style tubes usually found in Europe). There was a large balcony with two seats and a table. Absolute win. Did our room happen to be lucky enough to have a view of mountains? No, but I do believe that was an upgraded pricier option. Fair enough. A huge win for us was the laundry facilities. There was a full size washer and dryer!! You will need Franc coins for this and those can be obtained from the front desk. Every person who served at the desk here was so incredibly pleasant and helpful. We purchased lift tickets here and also received good advice for hiking. The breakfast here was outstanding and we took advantage both mornings of our stay. The young ladies working here were so nice. There was standard ‘continental breakfast’ foods and they served coffee/cappuccino. The views from the sunroom where we ate were breathtaking. A final perk was the location. The hotel was about 20 steps beyond the restaurants and busy section of Grindewald. We easily walked to town to enjoy dinner and reached the cable car to Grindewald First in 5 minutes. Do I wish this location had ac? Yes. But would it stop me from recommending or returning? Absolutely not. I would return in a heartbeat.

It was a near perfect location for our five person Family. I preferred this location because it’s quieter, and it would be impossible to find a better view than the one from our hotel balcony. Recently remodeled room was the size of a small apartment with a massive wrap around balcony. We are definitely coming back and we found the staff to be very gracious and welcoming.

Such a treasure in Grindelwald. My wife and I loved this quaint hotel. Doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles like a 5 star resort (no pool, no ice machine, no fridge but they have a wonderful breakfast in the most beautiful setting & the room we stayed in (34) was perfect for us. The staff was so warm and helpful and we just loved the history and the fresh flowers adorning the outside of the hotel. We experienced ZERO issues and the hotel head would get us ice on request (Americans love their ice) ;)
