Hotel location is excellent. Next to the train and bus station for easy access also walking distance to most of the main gondolas. Staff were lovely and helpful during our stay. Views from the room were amazing.

We had an amazing time at this property! What a Location!!! What great views to the mountains and we could not ask for more, we were in awe throughout the full trip! Staff was lovely from check in to Check out, Ricardo specially was very helpful to help us with itinerary and lastly breakfast was decent too.

We loved our stay here! The price was reasonable, the restaurant was good, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It's also right behind the train station, so accessible to everything. All the walking/biking trails cut right past the hotel, so it couldn't be better for a 1-5 day stay (longer than that I'd recommend a chalet/vacation home so you can cook your own food).

We had a wonderful experience during our stay. We arrived at our hotel hours before our check in and we are surprise that the staff let us checked in early and upgraded our room which have the best view, spacious and comfotable. The breakfast was really amazing as well. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel.

Clean Hotel, can't get any closer to the train station than this hotel, literally, right outside the front door. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was above & beyond what was expected. Would definitely return and recommend.

Overall very satisfied, excellent & amazing view and location perfect. The staff are so helpful that you will not wait a long time if you need help specially the Supervisor or assistant manager (sorry I forgot the names) who assisted us on the safe deposit box, also Vanessa who showed us how their door work as airconditioner, Harrizon the front desk who checked us in and also the front desk who check us out. Breakfast is very good. Also, there are lots of food choices on their menu in the restaurant and all very satisfying. I tried their fondue, steak, etc but the most recommended one that I really like is their cold beet soup with ice cream - yummy.

Derby was a somewhat reasonably priced option in Grindelwald, so my expectations were limited. I have to say I was very pleased with my small but functional room, which had fantastic views. Good breakfast with properly cooked bacon and eggs. Excellent location, overlooking the train station. Updated windows and patio doors neutralized the noise from the station. Very pleased overall.

We enjoyed staying at the Derby Swiss Quality Hotel. It is very close to the train station and has a nice view of the mountains. The staff is friendly, and breakfast is served on time with a nice variety of options. The hotel is very close to the Coop grocery store.

Stayed July 2026 for 3 nights in a 2 twin room option. The room was small but it was sufficient for us. We were out most of the day so we really just needed a place with good breakfast and decent bed to sleep at. We chose to stay at Derby primarily for location and easy access to transportation. The staff was friendly, helpful and made recommendations how we can change our itinerary due to rain. The breakfast was sufficient and good variety. However, it would be nice to start earlier or have a take-away breakfast option for those who want to start their day or hikes early. Like other mountain hotels, there was no AC but a small fan was provided. We slept with balcony door open which helped cool the room. With door open and room facing the train station, we can hear the trains and people. However after 9 pm or so, it's quiet and we slept comfortably. The proximity of Derby Hotel to the station provided us a good home base. We wake up relaxed and not rushing to catch the train or bus. At the end of the day, we felt safe walking to restaurants and enjoying the village scenery.

Amazing views! You can't beat the convenience if you're travelling by train - it's right across the platform - and the trains are so quiet we slept with our windows open and still didn't hear them. The breakfast had everything you could desire and the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable.
