The room was a reasonable size. The bathroom was awful. The washhand basin had two taps, cold and scalding. The bath/shower was unusable because I could not get the bath/shower tap to operate. The garden is wonderful. The staff were all very pleasant except for one receptionist from whom I sought assistance. She was inept and unpleasant. Breakfast was okay.

Wonderful setting - deer, rabbits and birdlife in the grounds. Not too well maintained (leaking loo, no shower grab rail, peeling paintwork). Make your own coffee at breakfast, plates left on table. Well meaning 3* quality but no higher.

Breakfast excellent. Lovely property and surroundings..Peaceful location with good parking including electric chargers. Friendly staff. We had an executive room in the old stable block. Very comfortable. Strong shower and water very hot. A couple of minor points that would be easy to remedy: a shelf or basket to put shampoo in rather than on the edge or the bath and a towel hook within easy reach of the shower.

We had a lovely stay overall and would definitely come back. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the staff were really friendly and welcoming, and the food was great. Breakfast was especially gorgeous and a real highlight. There were just a few things that took the shine off a little. The toilet wasn’t as clean as we’d have expected, and the bath drain seemed blocked, so the water backed up while we were standing in the shower. On the Friday night, there was also an incredibly noisy group in the restaurant who were clearly disturbing other guests, but no one seemed to ask them to calm down. We could still hear them later in the bar and even up in our room. That said, we did really enjoy it and would love to return, especially if those little issues could be sorted next time.
