Tropical feel. We had so much room and the kitchen was sufficiently equiped. However, here are my suggestions: Screens so we can get fresh air with no mosquito attacks, Linnens are alway more inviting when crips white, the kitchen counter was a beautiful wood slab but it retains the odor of food. Remove extra kitchen cups and unnecessary utensils for less clutter.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Room and buildings were tired and clearly in need of upgrades. Staff pleasant and great location but had banging water pipes all night (about every 15 minutes) , noise bleed from kitchen and adjacent bedrooms as poor insulation against noise- hear doors sliding open & shut, hearing people pee in next door room as if in same room as us. Location fabulous but just old and tired. Not what we were really expecting.

Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful location with a stunning beach walk right on our doorstep.
What a gem of a hostel! Our private room had a beautiful balcony that overlook the forest and the beach. It was very clean and cozy, and the bed was really comfortable! Would definitely stay again!
I stayed 1 night here with family and really enjoyed it. We arrrived just at sun set and the owner met us. We went straight to the beach from the property via a forest track where you can watch the sunset. We had a large self catering cottage to ourselves and our room was ensuite. Very pleasant stay and really quiet location. I would definitely recommend it and I would stay again.
The cleanliness could definitely be improved, as there was a lot of dust and no body soap or shampoo provided. The rain made it difficult to drive to the cabin. However, the staff were kind.
We loved this accommodation! Such a neat experience staying in the middle of NZ native bush land right on the coast. Super close to where we wanted to be & it had everything we needed & more than expected.
Very cool experience whether you are a kiwi or international traveller
