The property staff greeted us with a big smile and welcome. The check in process was painless and the room was lovely and clean.
However, the bed felt very firm and I didn't rest well. Saturday night when we returned to the hotel there was an awful smell in the hallway and in the room. My husband called the front desk and told them, the person wanted to know what it smelled like. Then I called and he asked me the same thing. I had no idea, he did offer to come and see if he smelled it, but that should have been the original plan. Also, he implied it was some chemical that was used on the carpets. He offered to comp our breakfast the next day, but that wasn't the point! The area smelled terrible and I was told they were completely booked so we couldn't be moved to another floor. I had to endure that smell until about 3am. Couldn't sleep. The next morning, I asked a gentleman on the elevator did he smell anything and he said that he and his wife smelled it as well.
I didn't take advantage of the comped breakfast, thoughtful though it was.
