Get away from the noise of the Cities to Little Resort on Big Trade lake, a stunning year-round log cabin on a peaceful 500-acre lake only 1.5 hours away from the Twin Cities. Perfect for swimming, fishing, and boating (pontoon rental available)!

The cabin itself is a beautiful 3 bedroom year round log home on a tranquil 500 acre lake surrounded by woods and wildlife that will instantly provide the relaxing sensation of a deep breath. It is situated on a quiet peninsula that looks out on a beautiful sun lit bay. The yard is very spacious and level with a gentle slope to the lake. No stairs to get to the water! We have a dock that is ready for you to tie up to, and 2 public launches within 2 miles.

In the summertime, our lake is great for swimming, fishing, and boating and is sure to produce an abundance of sunshine-fed smiles and laughter. Use the grill to cook up some steaks, make smores at our lakeside firepit, or just grab a drink and relax on the dock as the loons sing the sun down. The incredible sunsets get even better when you are bathed in the beautiful light while cruising the lake in a comfy pontoon. We are happy to help you coordinate drop-off and pick-up of a rental pontoon directly to and from the dock. Trust me when I tell you that boating does not get any easier than this! If you prefer more relaxed water activities we have a canoe, 2 kayaks, a paddle boat, Life vests, and water toys, for our guests to get out and enjoy the beautiful scenery and wildlife that our lake has to offer. We also provide lawn chairs, badminton, and bean bags to help you take advantage of the large flat yard surrounding the cabin. Did I mention the fishing is great right off the dock? It is! We never fail to get a shore lunch at the cabin :)

The fall offers gorgeous hikes and cozy nights. The colors are truly stunning! For hunters there is thousands of acres of public hunting land available within 15-30 mn of the cabin with plenty of Deer, Grouse, pheasant and Wild turkey around. If you don't want to work so hard for the birds there is a terrific game farm with all the amenities including 5 stand trap in a heated trailer that goes all winter long.

The winter time offers an incredible cozy and relaxing environment with a lot of great ways to get outside and enjoy. Cross country ski, snow shoe, ice fish, Hunt, play boot hockey, take our sleds for a ride, or snow mobile on some of the near by local trails. Down hill skiing and tubbing can be found just 40 minutes from the cabin at Wild Mountain. After you are done with Jack Frost, warm up next to a roaring fire with a warm drink, bake some cookies, play some board games and enjoy family and friends with old fashioned fun that only a log cabin in the country can provide.

The host requires you complete the following before checking out:
Take out the trash
Turn off the lights
Please strip the beds and put the sheets on the floor. Leave comforters/blankets on top of the bed. Please place wet or used towels in the bath tubs.
Please wash all of your dishes and place them on the drying rack. Please wash all pots and pans and place them on the stove. We will put them away.
Please securely close trash bags and place them in the garbage can located at the end of the driveway. Take your recycling with you or throw it in the trash as we do not have pick up at the cabin.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Rules

Pricing is based on 5 guests. Any guests over 5 is an additional 25.00 per person per night. Children under 18 months are exempt.
If there are groups of people not listed on the reservation that come and use the cabin during the day, an additional fee of 150.00 may be assessed.
Burn only our firewood because of concerns of importing harmful diseases and bugs to our area, and to help keep our chimney clean and safe.

Amazing and peaceful cabin! We needed a little time to unwind and this cabin was everything we hoped for! It is peaceful and so well appointed! The cabin was stocked with everything we needed and more! The layout was amazing for our family of 6! The fishing from the dock was wonderful. We would have easily had a meal or two if we were keeping them! The kids loved all the yard games and kayaks! We grabbed pizzas from the local dairy farm store and they were excellent! Cannot say enough positive things about this wonderful cabin! Our family cannot wait to return in the future! Thank you for sharing this special place with others!

Amazing stay! Peaceful and quiet

Plenty to do around Grantsburg, Webster and Siren which are all small towns. Fireplace with cut wood just outside the door, board games, and plenty of rooms if you are bringing the whole family. There is a great grill and bar called Route 35 in Webster and if you are a hunter there is public land nearby and gun ranges. We had a great time!

Nice extended weekend for family

We enjoyed our long weekend at the cabin. Used the paddleboat, canoe as well as the fire pit. It was very easy to communicate with our host (John) and he always responded very quickly. Enjoyed two beautiful sunsets.

Best Cabin

We were very impressed with this very clean cabin. It's a great layout over looking the lake, with plenty of room to sit around the fireplace, watch TV and dine. Kitchen was well supplied with everything we needed. Sleeping quarters worked out great for us. The host was great to work with, very responsive to any questions we had. I would highly recommend this cabin and plan on staying there next year.

Excellent winter stay!

This is truly a beautiful, well appointed cabin. It was very comfortable and full of all items needed. Although the weather was incredibly cold, the fireplace was helpful in keeping the cabin warm. We enjoyed a low key weekend watching movies, reading and keeping warm by the fire. The beds were very comfortable and rooms all had great views of the lake. I can't wait to come back another time with my family.

Perfect Cabin

We had a great time here for a three day weekend. We rented the pontoon that the owner referred us too. That worked out great. Great fishing from the dock as the kids caught over 100 Crappies over the weekend. Great lake to boat on as well. The cabin was clean we were very happy with our stay. Plenty of stocked wood for fires and the charcoal grill was clean and ready to go. Overall a great experience for our family. Groceries and bait only about 10 minutes away, so it was nice to be able to grab things we wanted if needed.

Much needed time off!

My family and I enjoyed our time at this property. We were able to relax and enjoy some much needed time away from the city. We enjoyed the lake, kayaking, playing games, and going on walks. The host was amazing! He was super responsive if anything came up. The caving is fully equipped with everything you’ll need. I will definitely be coming back!

Lake House 🏡

Beautiful place to stay, accommodation were amazing. Everything we needed to cook and keep everything cold including worms to fish with. 😉 sunsets were stunning. Very spacious, lots of games for the adults and kids and many entertaining toys to play with outside. All provided. So nice! We loved it. Highly recommended! Family of 7 adults 3 children.

Sub zero getaway

John was amazing to work with and the property was beautiful, cozy and clean Even though the temps (-38 degrees) did not allow us to do our planned outdoor activities we had a great time just relaxing by the fire. John was very accommodating and responded quickly to any questions we had. Would love to come back when it's not so cold to snowmobile and ski like our original plans, maybe next year.

Great getaway cabin in the woods

The host, John, is very helpful and detailed, and his cabin is clean and comfortable. The cabin is even more spacious than I thought it would be from the listing, and I was pleasantly surprised at all the extras provided (eg kayaks, a canoe, a paddle boat, games, lawn chairs, coffee, high-speed internet, etc). The beds are comfortable, and we got excellent sleep in this quiet, rural lake setting. The dedicated dock just 25 yards from the front porch was perfect for fishing, and we caught bluegills by the dozen. The shaded country road where this cabin is located made for a pleasant walk every morning, and we saw a lot of wildlife. There are several small towns just a short drive away with good places to eat. We had a wonderful five days here, and I highly recommend this cabin to anyone wanting a quiet getaway in the country.
