The room was in very poor condition. There was rotten food left inside the bedside cabinet drawer, which caused a very strong and unpleasant smell throughout the entire room. I left the drawer open specifically so housekeeping would notice and clean it. Unfortunately, the housekeeper only closed the drawer and did not remove the food or clean the area at all. The room was messy overall and clearly not properly prepared for a guest. On top of that, the shower did not work. I was only able to stay clean because I could shower at my workplace—otherwise, staying in this hotel would have meant no shower at all during my stay, which is completely unacceptable. This experience was extremely disappointing and far below basic hospitality and hygiene standards. I hope you take this feedback seriously and improve your cleaning and maintenance procedures so future guests do not go through the same experience.

I’ve stayed at this hotel three times over the past couple of months and, by coincidence, had the same room each time. While the room itself appeared very clean — spotless bedding and carpets — there was a persistent unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom, possibly the sink. Opening the window helped at first, but the smell returned by morning. The floor around the bed has also become quite squeaky, which must be frustrating for anyone in the next room or directly below. Despite these issues, I still like this hotel. With a bit of minor maintenance and attention to detail, it could easily become a great option for business stays.

Parking can be difficult to find on a busy night. Desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was cozy, comfortable, and quiet despite the restaurant being next door/downstairs. It was nice to stay at a place in GB during early Autumn that had the heat on!

The staff was kind. Room was large and spacious but really needs a stand for toiletries in the bathroom. We stayed in room 8 and the toilet paper holder was on top of the trash can so it was tall enough to reach, there also needs to be some towel hooks outside the shower stall since the heated rack is across a large room and you can’t help but get the floor soaked from a shower so it’s a bit dangerous going to grab your towel. They need lights on the side table or a tall lamp. All we had was the overhead light and a dead battery operated lamp. Bare walls as well. The room was large and clean but very empty. The attached restaurant was wonderful. Food and staff fantastic.

Good for Edinburgh airport without the high cost

Used this as a pre early morning flight stay- 20 minutes to Edinburgh airport. The room was super clean and comfy but could probably do with a bit of an update. Good value for the night and super friendly staff.

Hotel is clean and large rooms. Restaurant and bars are amazing. Sadly room was let down by only having 2 plug sockets and the shower cubicle was a ting quarter circle shape with no water pressure coming from the shower. Other than that we had a great stay.

Room 4 needs a new mattress

Good value hotel in a quiet residential area. Large ensuite, nearly as big as the bedroom. Breakfast not available. Let down by a mattress with a severe dent in the middle.

Firstly the car park nearly ripped the bottom of my car out. Such deep unavoidable potholes need sorting ! The room was basic but clean with the biggest tv ! The bathroom was spotless. Horrible small cups with saucers, I prefer mugs. The beds were ok, perhaps better mattress toppers would give a more comfortable sleep. The rooms are slightly overpriced in my opinion. Would I go back, No. the staff I saw and spoke to were very friendly. £10 for my dog to share the room was fair.
