Spacious suite had big windows, beautiful view of Lake Superior. Wood burning fireplace! Big bathroom with jet tub. Right next to Cascade State Park for waterfalls, hikes. Restaurant - food is excellent (highly recommend the salmon with ginger persimmon compote, and the "wild burger")!!

We loved walking down to the lodge for drinks and meals. The staff were all very friendly. We stayed in Cabin One and enjoyed the view of the lake and the wood burning stove. The table was big enough to play games. The bed very soft and squishy while we prefer a firmer mattress. The bathroom was from another era, but it was clean and typical of the North Shore. We would stay here again.

Very cute, clean. Beautiful water view. The only thing was the room was miserably hot. No air conditioning which we new. There was only a very small table top fan provided which basically did nothing. There should have been at least a large floor fan/box fan provided. Opened the windows to try to help circulation then very loud from traffic and outside lights too much so no sleep the first night.

Tiny cramped room. No air conditioning. Too many steps. No amenities. Beautiful lake view once you walk across the highway - not really viewable from room because of tiny paned windows. Loud highway noise throughout the night. Bathroom ill equipped - no vanity space and not even a hook on the wall for a robe or towel. Proximity to Grand Marais was convenient and the price was much more reasonable than staying right in Grand Marais so that is a positive.
