Located in the charming town of Glen Arbor, the Barn on the Bay is a new luxury home right outside of town. This wonderful open-concept home is situated in a beautiful park-like natural setting and around the corner from Lake Michigan. Three bedrooms (one is a loft) and two baths, welcome up to six guests. Will consider one dog 40 pounds or less. This property is beautifully furnished and modern, with gleaming hardwood floors.

Step into the spacious living room/kitchen/dining room area off of the deck. There are high ceilings and natural light pours in. It is a warm and welcoming space. Each window looks out on the restful natural surroundings.

There are two queen beds in the main level bedrooms and two full beds in the loft. With two full bathrooms. The primary bedroom steps out onto the spacious deck wrapped around part of the house.

The kitchen is well-appointed. If you love to cook, this kitchen does the trick. It is a Chef's kitchen with lots of counter space, a gas stove, and plenty of utensils. The living room features an electric fireplace to add ambiance, and a Smart TV with streaming only (no cable). WIFI provided.

The views from this space are lovely with cattails, cedars, and wildflowers peeking through. The nature lover will find the grounds enchanting with woodland animals and birds coming to visit. Outdoors, whether on the deck or sitting around the fire pit, relaxation and enjoyment await. A gas grill is provided as well as outdoor dining chairs and a picnic area. There is even an outdoor shower!

Lake Michigan is just 0.3 miles away and an easy walk down a quiet dirt road. The Crystal River is across the main road (M-22) and also has a dock.

Glen Arbor shops and dining are only minutes down the road, you can walk if you'd like! The Sleeping Bear Dune Climb is a 4.5 mile drive. The Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail connects nearby for biking and walking.

Beautifully designed and clean space located within walking distance to a peaceful and lively beach. We had a great visit at the Barn and would absolutely stay here again. A couple of things to be aware of - 1) there are three septic system from various properties that drain to the back of the house. We had the unfortunate experience of the truck coming to drain those three receptacles while we we getting ready to head out for the day - very smelly and gross. 2) The intersection on Bay 22 had a bridge reconstruction going on during our visit so we could hear the generators running all night and it definitely took a bit of the charm out of our visit with construction guys milling around at the end of the driveway and a ton of equipment and cones, etc. I don’t know how long this will carry on but you may want to ask before booking.One last thing - if you use the kayaks on the lake you need to have a pfd in the kayak with you. I was pulled over by the water-sheriff and ticketed for no pfd. 115. :/We had a perfect amount of space - our teens took the loft - and the kitchen was perfection for family dinners. They did have spices and basics, so that was great, and there is a BRITA for filtered water. The outdoor shower is fantastic and the beds were cozy. The walk to the beach is perfect and the sunsets are unmatchable. Loved it.

This property was an excellent stay for 8 days! The property management company was very helpful. The kitchen is new and well-designed with all the amenities needed for our stay. The outdoor shower is a plus when returning from the beach (a short walk down the road.)to rinse off and keep the house sand-free. Only items missing was shampoo/soap and enough Toilet paper to last our stay. This may be improved upon when there is a longer stay booked into the property. WE HIGHLY recommended this property and property management company for your next stay Up North in the Glen Arbor area! 5 stars ***** Pure Michigan! Enjoy!

Great House- close to beach and Glen Arbor

Great, newer clean house and very close location to Glen Arbor and Lake MI. Nice kayaks for the lake. One small thing to mention- close to a residential owner who didn’t seem to happy we were there. We were respectful and kind. Just had to be considerate when outside. Lots of ants in the kitchen area. But that happens sometimes. Definitely not a deal breaker. All in all great spacious house!

Great Location

Couldn’t ask for a place more convenient to Lake Michigan, the Crystal River, and town! Loved being able to kayak the river right from home. Very convenient to all the great hiking and biking we like to do as well, and the weather was great! We hope to be back soon!

Nice as can be

Perfectly appointed modern vibe. Quick walk to a charming quiet beach. It’s like staying in an IKEA show room — which let’s face it — we’ve all dreamed about. Our only concern would be the ladder up to the loft. Seemed a bit precarious.

Great Summer Vacation

Great property in a nice location close to town. Photos do not show the backyard with fire pit, and bathroom in master bedroom which were both very nice. Only letdown was that the steam shower in master bath was not functional.

We had a great stay and would love to stay again, although the price seems a bit high compared to other properties on the peninsula. The home is just off of M22 and away from the bustle of Glen Arbor. Our stay would have been more pleasant without the involvement of the property management company who complicates the stay with extra heavy handed legalistic paperwork which also undersells the home in that it was much better stocked than implied. For example - the home had some spices, salt & pepper, and extra paper products. There wasn't anything that we needed that wasn't there. The owner briefly stopped to inspect some exterior maintenance, and was very friendly & helpful. He recommended his dock on the Crystal River (across M22) which was a very serene place to sit! The home and property are nicely designed & you will not be disappointed.

Great location!

The unit was a great home, nicely appointed and very comfortable. Also a great location with short walk (200 yds) to Lake Michigan and 1/2 mile from downtown Glen Arbor. Only minor complaint is that it is a small lot and not as much privacy as expected from pictures.
