‘Budget’ in every way but the price!

If we’d paid budget prices, I wouldn’t have too much to say as the room was clean enough, staff pleasant and breakfast tasty and plentiful. However…. we paid £300+ for 2 nights b&b and this does not represent value for money. The hotel seems to form the upper floors of a multi story car park so it’s fairly grim and bleak. Not a very pleasant entrance - nor very easy to find your way from the car (or maybe that was just us!) Corridor carpets look filthy. Room was clean but in need of serious TLC: broken shelf under the sink, splatters of ? up the skirting and walls and badly chipped surfaces. Personally we wouldn’t stay here again unless the price WAS budget and we couldn’t get alternative accommodation near the Hydro/Ovo.

I wasn’t really expecting much with this being a budget hotel but was more than happy on arrival, the staff at check-in were pleasant and helpful, they allocated me a room on the 8th floor which is only accessible with a keycard in the lift so made me feel very safe. They had a good selection of snacks and drinks available but if you want something more there’s a Mother Hubbard, Nando’s, Costa, Burger King and so many other restaurants on the doorstep! The room I stayed in sleeps 3 people, there’s a shower, toilet, sink and tv and a little desk area, what more do you need! A taxi cost me £8.99 to Glasgow Central which is fair for a Saturday afternoon. I’d galley stay here again.

Very poor, would avoid

Dirty tissues left in the room, beds not made, stained sheet, missing remote. Written to complain and didn’t respond for 5 days. Obviously won’t be going here again, would avoid.

This Ibis budget is tucked away in the corner of a large Industrial estate, and seems to be part of a multi storey carpark. Just to let you know when you come out the building through the auto opening doors, if you take a left you will see an alleyway that goes through the car park, keep going you will see some steps, go up these and you meet a main road, where you will find a Tesco express, and a few other shops. The Ibis is ok if your on a budget, prices are reasonable, of course buying food and drink there is not going to be cheap. I never used the breakfast facilities. The room was clean, shower worked well, but quite noisy, the provided soap container is not ideally placed to be honest, and mine was empty when I arrived. There are no drink making facilities in the room, but I had my travel kettle with me, and this was ideal. TV fine, sink, toilet all fine. The lifts can become a little wearisome with the constant were going up/down ect, you also need to use your room key card to get it to move. All in all its ok. About a 15 min walk over to the town centre via Squiggly Bridge.

I like that it was close.to a casino and full of places to eat... It was Clean staff was friendly and on point...Its a 20m walk from city center... We had no car it was fine... If your on a Budget this place is actually much better than it looks.... Would stay again for sure...
Room has a top bunk over the queen bed... Gr8 for storage...Sleep the other way so you dont bang your head when u get up...

Hotel fine. Decent location. Small things often decide whether I stay at a hotel again - tie-breakers, if you like, if I have more than one option. Give you two examples - no tea or coffee in the room. It's only free at the point of delivery, so I am not asking for something for nothing. Like your Belfast IBIS on the same trip, no hot-food option at breakfast. Is this an IBIS change, because your Aberdeen IBIS branch as recently as last year had a full selection?

A night stop in Glasgow

A one night stop in Glasgow on the cheap - here you get what you pay for, a clean room, a bed and very basic breakfast. Not to be critical as it had free parking which sold me and walkable to the city core. Perhaps not in best area but again the price - I would recommend for the budget travelers.

Short Glasgow Break

It is what it says it is, a budget hotel. It is however as budget as I've ever stayed in! It did the job for a night but I wouldn't want to stay any longer than that. Quite a few back packers use this hotel and I can see why. lots of amenities
