Dark and Smelly
Communication prior to our arrival was fine. When we went to the rental office to pick up the key, we were told that we had to be at the apartment at noon the next day in order to let the cleaning lady in and to give her the key as there was only one key. The young woman at the rental office was apologetic. We accepted the one and only key and headed to the apartment. The location was ok as was the building. The apartment however was dark and the bathroom smelled musty and moldy. The kitchen reeked of fish. It was unacceptable. We headed back to the rental office. After several phone calls back and forth between the young woman at the office and her boss, we were told that they would refund our money, which they did within a few days. The very gracious and apologetic young woman at the rental office was also very helpful in finding Us a hotel for the night. All’s well that ends well but it would have been a much quicker and happier introduction to Girona if the apartment had been acceptable.
