The Mercure Kochi Tosa Resort is an outstanding hotel. We had a clean specious traditional Japanese room. Excellent buffet dinner is offered on site. Ample parking space is available.

We were fortunate to book this hotel and had a wonderful stay. It is outside of Kochi city, but we had a car making it convenient to explore the area. It happened to be the fall training camp for the Hanshin Tigers. Hotel guests received a pass to see the players leave for camp in the mornings. Such a treat. The breakfast was amazing and with a view of the ocean. The Spa was comfortable and because we stayed two nights they move male/female baths so we could try both.

Excellent, but bedroom could be better

The area itself it pretty beautiful, which helps a lot! The hotel has a good ocean view from the room (in my case) and from the breakfast area. Honestly, everything was pretty great! The pool is good, the breakfast is good, the view is good, the restaurants and izakaya inside the hotel are good as well. The only problem was the bedroom. The furniture is pretty old and the bed isn't so comfortable. Although it's a big bedroom with two beds and a sofa!

Large rooms but needs updating

This hotel has seen better times and is in need of an update. Onsen was very nice, much nicer than the rooms, which does need some serious updating. Staff was accommodating and very nice. Don't expect much English, though. Buffet breakfast including both Japanese and western items was pretty good and was included with our room.

【部屋】 2部屋隣同士でしたが、2部屋とも部屋の掃除が行き届いておらず、机や鏡台が真っ白で埃が積もっており、部屋の空調が暑すぎて息苦しかったです。 最初に埃などをウエットティッシュで拭き掃除しました。空調は一括調整のため、暖房のみ使用可能だったので、暖房を切り、窓を開けて空気の入れ替えと温度調整をしました。 2部屋ともトイレの換気扇(全く音もせず動いていなかった)とウォッシュレットか使えなかったので、翌日の朝、掃除の時にみて欲しいとフロントで伝えました。 ちょうど廊下で、お掃除のスタッフの方にお会いしたので、諸々お伝えしたところ、とても丁寧に対応してくださり、2日目はウォッシュレットも換気扇も直って、お掃除も丁寧にしてくださったので、居心地良く宿泊できました。 【食事】 2日ともブュッフェは同じ料理でしたが、どれも基本的に美味しかったです。種類も豊富だったので、良かったです。 200席ほどあるレストランでしたが、元旦の夜はレストランが非常に混み合っていて、私たちが会場に入れた時には52組待ちになっていました。 最後の方は料理の補充があったかは分かりませんが、私たちが食べた時はお料理がなくなる前にどんどん補充しておられ、食べたいのはたくさん食べることができました。 コーヒーも部屋に持ち帰れるので良かったです。 【バー】 時間によって、飲み物が違いました。夜のバーはお酒もいろいろありましたが日本酒を飲める人には地酒がたくさんあって飲み比べもできて良いと思いました。 ウイスキーやその他は飲み放題なので仕方ないですが、普段それなりの物を飲んでいる人には満足できないかもと思いました…。 なので、せっかくなら日本酒を是非堪能してもらいたいです。 あと、おつまみにナッツやチョコレートが欲しかったです。レストランにはナッツ類があったので、ぜひバーにも置いて欲しいです。 【大浴場】 翌日は、男女浴場が入れ替わるのでどちらのお風呂も入れて良かったです。夫や子供たちは坪湯のある方の露天風呂が良かったと言っていました。 ただし、坪湯の温度がぬるすぎて寒くて入れなかったです。これは全員から不評でした。でも、小さなお子さんや何人か入っている人もいたので、水風呂程寒くはないので温まった身体を心地よく冷やすことができる人もいたんだと思います。 あと、入口でスリッパや靴を下駄箱に入れることになっていて、一応そのことも入った所に書いてあるのに、土足のまま脱衣場まで入っていく人や、上がったあとにスリッパや靴を先に履いて休憩所を土足のまま歩いている非常識な人が何人もいて、不快な気持ちになりました。入口に大きな下駄箱もあるし、みんな靴やスリッパは脱いでいるので分かるとは思うのですが、非常識なのか、想像力が足りないのか脱衣場のロッカーにスリッパを入れてる人もいたので、もう少し注意書きを目立つようにした方が良いと思いました。 【売店】 お土産を売っている売店がありましたが、開いているのは16時半～21時と非常に短く、お風呂上がりにチラッと見ただけでした。朝も開いてたらいいなと思いました。 【スタッフの方の対応】 基本的に親切にはしていただけましたが、年末年始の忙しさで諸々の心情が表情に出ている人はいました。 外国の方はパッとみた感じはいませんでしたが、食事や入浴マナーの悪い方もおられましたので、スタッフの方も本当に大変だと思いました。 ご対応、ありがとうございました。
