This is a hidden gem for sure! The property is absolutely stunning! My husband and I enjoyed every minute of our stay! The trails were beautiful and well maintained. Thank you for sharing your wonderful house! I hope to be back in the future!
My family loved it. there was a spiral stair case that i did not trust my 18 month old on fully, but that has nothing to do with the property owners. I loved the woods and trails surrounding the property! My family and I hiked every day!
This place was very clean. And was well appointed. They had everything we needed, and we were 15 min from everything we wanted to do. There are some beautiful trout waters in that area! Thanks !
Perfect get away and place to relax and unwind. Loved hiking and sitting on the deck listening to the birds and staring up at the hills. Just what we needed.
Met friends from IL which was perfect halfway point from Twin Cities. We spent the our days hiking the many trails on the property and enjoying the beautiful views of the hills and valleys. Evenings on the deck watching the sunset and grilling. Beautiful location!
We had an absolutely wonderful weekend at the cabin and enjoyed hiking the property. Luke's hill is a butt buster! We loved the fact that we could bring our dog and that there was no cell service or internet. Just family time and quietness.
lovely location and facility. Lack of wi-fi and phone made communication with relatives somewhat complicated for our family reunion.
Narrow spiral staircase was challenging for us 2 couples over 60.
My husband, my mom, my dog and I had a great a great weekend staying here. The property is beautiful. It was wonderful to have that many different trails around the property. The cabin is comfortable and is well equipped. The host James provided us with clear instructions about the checking. Thank you!
We really enjoyed our stay. We had a great time being unplugged and watching our old VHS tapes and DVDs. The weather didn't cooperate fully but we loved watching the rain out the many windows. It's very clean and comfortable. The spiral stairs are a doozy to navigate but we limited our troops to just up once and down once per day. Lol The shower's water pressure could have been better. I just didn't wash my long hair during our stay. It was a little low for my husband but not a deal breaker. The property is absolutely gorgeous. There are so many trails. We did a nice loop that was about 1.58 miles and it was great. We didn't even touch a 1/3 that was available. The spring peepers and tree frogs were putting on a concert for us. So many hawks flying over too.It was closer to the road than expected but it wasn't too noisy. Just noticed the lights at night. It's so close to a lot of fun bars and restaurants too. We will definitely be back.
This place was a needed step back from everyday life. Me, my husband and our two dogs had a wonderful and relaxing time, between looking out the big widows to hiking the many trails, it was perfect. There is nothing like throwing on VCRs & sipping coffee with fresh air surrounded by nature. Book it, you won't regret it.
The Upper Place Cottage was a wonderful weekend escape. Our pups loved running the trails, and the leaves were at their peak for the season! The house was clean and had everything we needed for a long weekend. The staircase is a bit harrowing, but you get used to it. We would love to come back - especially in the winter to snowshoe or ski the trails.
Very scenic, cute cottage. Be aware, no cell service. Had no hot water for our stay. Staircase may not be suitable for older adults. Extremely well equipped. Worth the stay even with the negatives.

Dead zone with no internet connection
There is no key to lock the property from the outside, so we had to take our valuables with us when leaving. Even though there wasn’t WiFi available, the big problem was there was zero internet connection, a dead zone. No antennae for television either, just old vhs and some dvds.
There was not enough hot water in the shower. We had 4 people staying, and had to time out our showers by at least a half hour, to have enough hot water. The water pressure was also terrible. We were not provided with enough toilet paper to last the trip and had to purchase our own. The lamps outside by the grill do not work.
We loved that there was no internet or phone service. The owners have put a lot of TLC into the home and it’s shows. A few things to plan for - the water pressure in the shower isn’t great but there is plenty of hot water. No washer/dryer. We didn’t feel we needed those things.
We had a wonderful time. My wife and I were looking for some peaceful R&R and this was more than we could have hoped. We hiked every day, spent lots of time on the deck, sat by the fire pit, and generally enjoyed all of the beauty of this location. And the "wall of windows" makes you feel like you are outdoors even when you are inside the cozy and very unique cabin. We only left the property a couple of times over the entire 10 days because everything we needed and were looking for was right here.
