We loved our stay here. The room was spacious and clean. Bathroom had two sinks which is always nice. The breakfast was wonderful. Within easy driving distance to Galway and Aran island ferry. Wiuld definitely recommend.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
This was the most disappointing stay of our trip. The breakfast and staff were great, reception and room service staff were also great.
Our first night we had dinner at the restaurant upon arrival and our waiter did not bring my drink order, I had to ask another staff member who brought my meal. When he packed my kids pizza that was left over it was thrown into the box, my husband commented about it and fixed it up.
The pool area is not exclusive to guests. This was the only hotel we stayed at that had a pool and my kids were excited about it. There is a hot tub and sauna area that is off limits to anyone under 18. The sign is posted on the wall behind the hot tub beginning with -18. I thought this was a temperature reading at first (from Canada here) and then when I made sense of the poorly written sign it means under 18 years of age. My kids like hot tubs, at other hotels we have been to they can use them and when I asked them to get out they couldn’t understand why. As I was asking them to get out the staff member from the desk came in and made a huge scene about how they can’t be there, I am responsible for them, and they are not insured to be there (I insure my own children when I travel). Even though I let him know that I was asking them to get out he continued yelling at me, it was very embarrassing and completely ruined the whole stay for me. I can understand having a tone like that with someone if you’ve had to ask more than once. I immediately left with my kids.
I mistook this to be in Galway. It’s about 30 minutes out of Galway. Still a great hotel.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
A fine place to stay. The space is beginning to look a bit tired - the bathroom door had seen better days and the carpet was beginning to pull away from the wall
Room was very nice to start, we were staying two nights. Myself and my young son woke up the following morning and i noticed spots/lumps on my legs and then on my body. I checked my bed and my sons bed and I found bed bugs in both beds.
I immediately reported it to reception and asked for a manager to be told there was none available but the girls on reception would sort it out and ring me later. We had to go to the nearest pharmacy to get antihistamines and ointment.
We were then upgraded to a different room for the second night and given a refund for only one night.

Disliked: Cleanliness
Friendly staff but management would not entertain fixing our AC problems. The room was consistently 24-25 celsius. Their response was to give me a small fan.
Fairly standard hotel, no real complaints. It's pretty big, and the soundproofing isn't great so we could hear people in the corridor and opening and closing doors to other rooms.
Bathroom and shower were decent (shower in bath rather than separate), bed was large and comfy. The room had AC which wasn't the case for everywhere else we stayed on our Ireland trip. The car park was big enough so we didn't struggle to park. There were a few shops in walking distance, but I imagine most people would choose this location for it's proximity to Galway and the coast.
We only spoke to a few members of staff and didn't eat at the restaurant, but they all seemed polite and friendly enough. We went to the bar one night and there was some live music which was nice, and there was a good selection of drinks at a probably average price compared with the surrounding area and Galway.

Claregalway Hotel
Considering it’s a 4 star hotel I thought the cleanliness and general condition/ upkeep of the hotel was poor. Hairs on the towels in the bathroom. No atmosphere in the reception, there should be background music playing to make it more inviting. Checked it at 9.50pm on the night of arrival and asked if it was possible to get a toasted ham and cheese sandwich and was told the kitchen was closed. My first ever experience staying at a hotel where I couldn’t get food. Disappointed with our stay as it wasn’t cheap.
The airconditioner was broken and there was only one small window that could only be opened a crack. The room was super hot. The pool closes early at 8 pm.
I like this hotel because the room was very pretty and it had a pool there. The transportation to go to Galway was good. However there was no air condition in the room.
We stayed for two nights and enjoyed one room for our family with two single beds and a double. We liked the space of the room and it was very clean. a few little things-
The toilet seat cover kept on closing on its own and did not go all the way up. Another little
thing, but should have been mentioned-the lights work only with a room key put into a slot. Strange that the receptionist did not tell us that when checking in. We liked that this hotel was a little outside of Galway City and enjoyed our stay.
Stayed for one night. It was a great stay! The only issue was the air conditioning. Wasn’t really working well to cool the room despite being set to the lowest temperature (19 degrees). I told the staff and they were pretty understanding. Provided me with a fan which helped to try and circulate some of the air from the AC, so that helped a bit with the coolness. But other than that, it was great! Super clean and roomy! Would definitely recommend!
Staff were very courteous, knowledgeable and considerate. Timely service when our AC was not working. Perfect direction to the closest laundromat. Very pleased with the experience.
