Stayed in the newer annex- very nice room and thoughtfully decorated. Comfortable and clean. Nice to have the restaurant right there for breakfast and the dinner tacos were great!

Room was spacious and very nicely appointed with beautiful artwork of the time. Although we were there in the winter, the gardens and other sitting areas were beautiful. Would love to come back when it’s warmer weather.

The hotel is historic and i stayed in the annex building that had been renovated recently. It was querky and comfortable. It was done in a route 66 vibe and well done! I had never stayed in a room that had a caddy comining out of the wall before! I also never had a vintage working payphone or Victrola in my room before.

I don’t have any bad memories of this hotel. Taking the elevator is the number one must-try experience, and the omelets are excellent. Although the building is old, it is well maintained and has a charming analog feel.

The room was clean & bed very comfortable, now I stayed at the main bldg. and the rooms are extremely small with an even smaller bathroom with a large shower lol. But this place has everything, food, drink, history! The ambiance is the coup de grace !

This is not a pet friendly place. If I hadn’t had my dog with me I would have loved it, but there is ZERO place available to relieve dogs so I had to wander down the sidewalks to find any gravel or patch of dirt I could find. That wouldn’t have been so bad if the neighborhood wasn’t so sketchy. I definitely felt fear during our poop walks. Other hotels closer to the Walmart area are better suited for pets with designated pet areas and less sketchy areas to walk. With all that said, I really enjoyed El Rancho for other reasons. The restaurant was really good. The history and atmosphere are a lot of fun. The gift shops were great!
