The room was clean, overall the hotel was nice and well kept. The only issue was with the night desk clerk, I asked him a simple question about parking, he didn't answer the question, instead he went on a tirade about parking my car on the roof of a house he didnt care! he was rude and sarcastic, this caught us by surprise as there was no antagonist to this reaction, I would recommend this hotel but would avoid this employee. And conversely, as we were checking out, the morning desk clerk was courteous ,helpful, and all around personable, his attitude was very refreshing,he epitomized how a hospitality worker should treat thier guests.

Stayed in a wellness room during part 1 of my stay. Complimentary upgrade. Would have liked the same room type for part 2 but wasn’t upgraded. Lake view rooms were clean and well furnished in both the main room and bathroom Friendly check in/out staff at reception. Good service in the restaurant overall, although drinks were a bit slow. I was not aware of the $25 per day valet parking when I booked the hotel, and felt this was expensive and unexpected. Overall, a decent hotel. I would stay again.

Parking is the typical UF nightmare. The only option for parking AT the hotel is $25 per night valet parking. If you don't want to pay that, or don't want to hand over your vehicle to some kid who is barely out of high school, then you will have to find parking in one of the hospital parking garages which are a 5 to 10 minute walk depending. Don't make the mistake of thinking those garages will be cost free, or even have a space available during the week. If you're willing to put up with UF's terrible parking situation the hotel is beautiful and clean. The staff are polite and accommodating. However the only thing that is special about it is the proximity to the hospital campus and a nice view. So if you aren't visiting the hospitals I would probably just stay elsewhere in Gainesville and avoid the hassle.
