Overall left somewhat disappointed with this stay - we have visited the San Juan Islands with our family for several years, and this property was not on par with others that our family has stayed at. The neighborhood and location are nice, peaceful, and very pretty. There is plenty of wildlife (deer every morning/evening, and seals/otters in the inlet). However, the house was a disappointment. The outdoor andirondack chairs in the backyard are in really poor condition, and two of them are not even usable. The water well has clear signs of pretty significant salt intrusion - there was salt grime on all of the glasses and plateware, and the tap water is completely undrinkable, so you need to pack your own bottled water for the trip (we did not know this in advance, and ended up having to buy a bunch on the island). There were also a ton of yellow jackets while we were there; the owner seems to be remediating (there are traps set up next to the house), but our kids were uncomfortable playing outside during the peak of the day because of the amount of yellow jackets near the back deck. Lastly, after cleaning the property before we left, the owner charged an additional cleaning fee without any substantiation (said carpets needed additional cleaning, but they were left in the same condition as found when we arrived).
Overall, enjoyed the island and the neighborhood, but would recommend picking a different property. This house was not worth the price.
