Overall the bedrooms/bathrooms were spacious. The outdoor areas were very picturesque and peaceful. Plenty of kitchen items. Views of the water from the majority of rooms. The only drawback is the living room seating area was small and couches were not very comfortable and the TV was small and not easy to view from various seats.

Best vacation house in 19 years

Our group enjoyed the beautiful views from inside the home, the deck, the hot tub and the many cozy outdoor spaces. It was just incredible! John, our host, was awesome from beginning to end. We did all our own cooking and the kitchen had every item we wanted and lots of room for moving around. We would love to go back! Worth the price

The yard is gorgeous, view spectacular, house stocked with everything you need for a great vacation. Host was completely on top of correspondence. The best accommodations my large family has ever had in all our years of vacationing as one unit.

Perfect Stay for 40th Bday Weekend!

The property and location are incredible— pictures really don’t do it justice. The house is spacious and everyone slept comfortably. The kitchen was well appointed and we had everything needed to cook large meals throughout the weekend. It was a bit too windy/wet to have a bonfire (early December), but we loved being able to walk down to the beach and soak in the views of the water. The hot tub is huge and everyone who got in enjoyed themselves. The owner was friendly and communicative and made the entire process very easy, despite the VRBO app having a weird glitch when I initially booked the stay. All in all, we had a fantastic time and would absolutely return (hopefully in the summer to take advantage of the longer daylight hours and spend time on the water). Many thanks to John, the owner—we had an unforgettable weekend!

Wonderful spot for Family get away!

It was a perfect accommodation for our extended family get together. The rooms are spacious and clean. The dining table is plenty big enough for meals and board games. The kitchen is well stocked. We also really enjoyed the outdoor spaces; hot tub, the walk to the beach and, in particular, we found the outdoor fire space very accommodating for a cozy, all age group of marshmellow roasters! We will definitely be back!

Superb vacation rental!

Our supper club group of 8 had a fantastic time at this beautiful, wonderfully spacious and comfortable home, with a view to break your heart. We all found the beds good, the living room truly accommodating and relaxing for our group, and the kitchen well outfitted for preparing meals. The landscaping, with all its charming spots for relaxing and enjoying the view, was a sight to behold and a joy to stroll around. The pictures do not give the full story of this truly special home. I am booking again for our group for next Fall!

Peaceful Waterfront Home

Our family of six adults, one child and two dogs spent a magical week at this lovely home. The house has views Holmes Harbor from nearly every room as well as multiple places on the extensive grounds to sit and enjoy the garden and water views. The large and well supplied kitchen was perfect for preparing meals to have on the deck. We never even wanted to go out to eat! The well maintained stairway to the beach is long and steep, but there is also a trail and John, the owner, let my husband use the golf cart to avoid the stairs. We've stayed at several beachside homes on Whidbey, but all of us agree that this one is our favorite.

Great House, Outstanding views and Wheelchair Friendly

What an amazing place to stay, the views from inside and outside of the house are stunning. We had a lot of fun using both fire pits, the property is so well kept it is like staying in a park. We really enjoyed playing golf at the local course, and also thoroughly enjoyed the winery down the street. We all had a great time, and we will definitely be coming back, the host has been doing this for a while and it shows. What a great place to relax and have fun!

Serenity NOW!

The landscape alone made this place worth the stay. If you’re looking for pool tables and arcade machines, this isn’t the spot, but if you want a perfect backdrop with your morning cup of coffee, this is your place! We enjoyed strolling through the beautifully landscaped back yard leading down to the water. The stairs are steep and it’s a real workout coming back up, but the yard, sitting areas scattered throughout the property, the large hot tub overlooking the water, and the lack of noise from other houses/cars/people made this place a dream spot for us. Our host John was incredibly accommodating and communicated well with us. Definitely recommend this peaceful home on the water to anyone needing some “serenity now” in their life!

Wonderful rental for girls beach retreat

Our ladies group of 14 enjoyed 3 fun filled days and nights in this lovely home. We prepared meals in the well equipped kitchen with space for gathering, dined inside and outside, soaked in the hot tub, enjoyed the water view and gorgeous landscaping, walked the 100-plus stairs to the beach, and slept comfortably in the beds and additional floor mattresses. And 5 bathrooms were appreciated! Plenty of parking too. The owner was friendly and responsive. The pictures in the listing are accurate.

Whidbey Island Mother's Day weekend with family

Our stay at Harbor Hideway vacation rental was amazing. The property is more stunning and beautiful than the pictures show. We spent most of our time on the deck overlooking the beautiful garden. This is the best stocked vacation rental that I have ever experienced. John, the host, checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. This property is close to shopping, beaches, etc.

Wonderful family vacation

This was an excellent stay. The most beautiful views you can imagine. The home is equipped with everything you would ever need. (Especially for children and babies). Clean and enjoyable hot tub too. The owner was very nice. We also spotted “Ellison” the elephant seal on the beach.

Spectacular views, home, and gardens on Whidbey Island

My husband, daughter, son-in-law, dog and I enjoyed a fantastic week at this home on Whidbey island. There were beautiful views from each of the living spaces and throughout the property. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked many delicious meals. The hot tub was large and situated with perfect views of puget sound. The spacious yard was beautifully landscaped. The bedrooms were large and private as they were spread on three levels. Kitchen looked out to a spacious deck with fabulous views and was beautifully equipped. The owner, John, greeted us on arrival, was a gracious host and respected our privacy. All of us left with good memories and we hope to return.

Absolute heaven - something for everyone!

John is a master of attention to detail and every little quirk of the gorgeous house is well explained, labeled etc. We could have done nothing but chill in the back yard and on the patio, enjoying the gorgeous view, abundant birds, super-tame deer, and John's lovely pet cat and dog and the numerous lovely lounging spots scattered about. We each had a favorite getaway spot. The space is very well designed for group dinners, multiple people getting breakfast at the same time, and enjoying the outdoors from indoors as well. The common areas and the lower level bedrooms do not have AC but the windows do provide good airflow, which was fine for us because the weather was perfect with temps between 55 and 77 but if it was persistently in the mid 80sor more it may have been an issue. The handicap accessible suite on the main floor worked very well for my uncle - if there's anything that seems lacking just check with the owner and it's probably tucked away somewhere!! if not I'm sure he would make it right. The location was fantastic- great access to Freeland, Langley, Coupeville and many great natural areas. Parking is easy even with 3-4 vehicles. There's nothing really within walking distance - you need a car, but all important needs are addressed within just a few minutes drive. The only shortcoming was that the TV isnt really made for large group movie nights. Nothing but good memories!!!

Beautiful house and property!

The entire property was amazing! You immediately feel relaxed when you arrive. Lots of space to hang out both inside as well as outside. The landscaping and views are beautiful. The house is very accommodating to large groups - everyone had a comfortable place to sleep and every bedroom has an attached bathroom with shower. I highly recommend and would stay here again!

Girl's birthday weekend!!

This place is simply amazing. Like beyond words amazing! Once we arrived we did not want to leave. Even for dinner!! Hot tub is large and close to the house but still has water view. The steps down to the beach are a veritable great of engineering - but safe and secure! 4 bedrooms each with their own bathrooms!! Very well appointed kitchen!! Could not have been more perfect for my birthday girl's weekend!
