We stayed at the Harmonia Dome for a family getaway and overall had an okay experience. The deck and hot tub were nice, the bed was comfortable, and the kitchenette was well equipped. However, there weren’t enough plates for four guests and only three dining chairs.
The dome didn’t quite live up to the photos online, which make it appear newer and more polished. There was noticeable wear and staining on furniture, rugs, the table, kitchenette and bathroom areas. It could also use a deeper cleaning—the floor fans were very dusty, we found spiders in the loft, and a dead wasp stuck to a curtain.
Our biggest issue was the heat. The dome was hot when we arrived, cooled somewhat overnight, then became incredibly hot again the next day. Even with the A/C and several fans running, it was uncomfortable enough that we left rather than spend our second night. The hosts were responsive and sent maintenance quickly, which we appreciated. Also gave us back a 20% partial refund.
The property was also less private than expected, with other domes/treehouses nearby.
Lastly, Expedia showed “pets stay free,” which factored into our decision to book, but we were charged a $95 pet fee. Hopefully this is corrected for future guests.
Overall, this felt more like comfortable glamping than luxury glamping. There were things we enjoyed, but between the upkeep, cleanliness and summer heat, it didn’t meet our expectations.
