I originally booked 4 nights at The Harper but ended up extending my stay to 5. and it was a mix of highs and lows. The room was cozy with nice bedding and blackout curtains, but a huge red stain on the floor and stained $120 robes made it feel neglected. Check-in was easy and staff were polite, but follow-ups were often required, and housekeeping didn’t change towels or bedding unless we asked repeatedly.
In-room dining was fast and well-prepared, though trays were sometimes left outside for hours. Dining in at Il Modo was excellent—consistent, flavorful, and a highlight of the stay. Amenities like the “champagne button” added genuine luxury, and bathroom products were high-quality.
Overall, The Harper has style and some standout experiences, but inconsistent service, housekeeping issues, and overlooked details keep it from being a fully polished boutique hotel. Worth a stay if you enjoy the vibe, but don’t expect perfection.
