We had a late flight into Florida and arrived at the house around 11pm. The 1st thing we noticed is that the house is pretty dark. Even after we turned on all the lights, the house still felt dark. The main issues with the house though were the dirtiness and the bug infestation. When I flipped the light switch on in the bedroom, there were bugs crawling out of the light socket. Lots of them!!! In the corner of that room was a pile of dirt and bug carcasses. The pillow on the bed had a spider crawling on it and when we pulled the covers back, there were black spots of who knows what on the mattress cover. In the closet where the extra blankets were, it looked like dry wall had fallen and was covering the blankets. There were large cob webs in there also as if the place had never been cleaned. The sheer white curtains had dead bugs and dried blood on them from where someone was killing the bugs. There was no way we were comfortable sleeping there. Even though it was close to midnight now, we still decided to leave with no alternative housing options for our 5 night vacation. It was very stressful to find another accommodation for our family of 5 at the last minute. Part of the house rental fee is for cleaning. The house looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. After contacting the property management company and Hotels.com, neither is giving us an acceptable refund. We were offered $299 out of $1,100 even though we didn't stay there at all. Don't book here!!!
