Decent rooms for a budget hotel. The problem is the Latina girl working. She is working right now, Richard/Richard Partners/ANYBODY ABOVE THE PECKING ORDER OF ‘Paula’, and this kind of human, along with the exhausted, both phsycally/mentally unattractive Paula who showed her disgusting self, sadly. Paula not only dresses like a homeless person, has the physical appearance of a 2.5 out of 10 at best, but her work competency and ethic are at a 2 out of 10. As someone who worked in hotels for several years and as a vendor for hotels for another 10 years, it’s truly a rare combo to come across such a low iq, inefficient hospitality worker, such as PAULA. Check out my Google review on 1.27.26, I am EL I’d like to discuss why such low class humans like Paula are placed in these customer interactive positions? Paula’s best days are behind her, it’s obvious when interacting with this lost soul, as her apathy and low class personality shine.. or display for all to see. So read the Google review, and if you are Richard, call me, I live in Hollywood. While Paula is a low wage worker who comes across as trying her best albeit her low intelligence and below average looks, customers deserve better. Thanks Eric :)

Upon arrival there was no one behind the locked bulletproof glass cage, but there were three people already waiting. Another customer called the posted number and someone came out to the cage from within. Then we were told that a fifty dollar cash deposit was required, BUT, their ATM WAS NOT FUNCTIONING so we had to hike down the street to find one as they wouldn’t wave the fee or take a credit card! When I returnd one third of the parking strip was overrun with police cars and there was only one open spot. 20 minutes later I got into a room on the second floor with no elevator and dragged my pack and suitcase up a flight of spongy stairs. The room was ancient the “stick on” tiles throughout the room had shrunk over the decades and were separated at the seams indiscriminately. The TV didn’t work, one lamp’s lamp didn’t work but the outlet in the base did work and the other lamp worked but its outlet didn’t. In the morning, trying get out at around 8:30 am there was no one in the cage. Banging on the door got nowhere. Calling got me recording saying I was first in line. When answered I asked where the heck the clerk was? He said “I’m at the other location!” I said “ I’m in the hole fifty dollars and I have to catch a plane!” He said I’ll be there in 3 minutes. 5 minutes later an elderly gent with a Brit accent showed up, returned my 50, and when I told him of the deficiencies he said: “You should have called, I’d have sent someone right up to repair it”. Right.

Good points: Price was reasonable. Staff were friendly and expectations were clear. Room appeared clean. Convenient location with restaurants, cafes and stores across the street. Areas for improvement: Room was beat up. Signs of mold in bathroom (on shower taps). Strict about not letting you check in till 4pm and no where to drop bags. Check in process was paper-based; forms filled out by hand took a while. Note $50 deposit is cash only.

Staff was great and very attentive to our needs, but the hotel infrastructure was very poor. The toilet was loose :-( In the other hand, affordable price and good location. Good place to crash like last resort!

For the discount price this is very acceptable and that merits 5 stars in my book. Its clean and, at least in my room everything worked. There is lots of parking which is unusual in this urban location. Does it feel safe ? The location at street level in a trendy but slightly gritty section of a major Miami Beach street is kinda safe, but kinda not. The clientele appears to be mostly men. The policies are designed for a clientele who are assumed to not necessarily have credit cards.
