When we arrived to the apartment, the door was unlocked and cracked open, which was a little alarming and unwelcoming. We entered the apartment and there was a strong odor of mildew and I immediately brought it to the host's attention. The host stated it was impossible to smell because they just did renovations. We thought it may have been the wet towels left in the dryer but we later discovered the stench came from under the kitchen sink. One bedroom window had no curtains or frosted glass and could be peered into from outside. This was unsettling because someone could easily see in to see us changing or sleeping. The first night of our stay the shower would not drain and when brought to the host's attention, I was told to unclog it myself. I refused and a maintenance man quickly came to fix it. The microwave would not rotate or heat food. I wish I had read previous reviews before booking. The only saving grace was the location. The neighborhood was beautiful and very close to the beach and areas to explore.
